Transferring SMS to new phone

This is probably very basic, but I would like to know if it is possible to download the SMS text messages stored on an MW3020 and upload to another one.

I can't find anything similar in any earlier threads, but maybe its cos I don't know exactly what to search for.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks Very Much - VERY HELPFUL!

My girlfriend just happens to be sentimental about some of these messages and I was hoping someone may know where thery are stored in the phones memory so I can transfer them to her new phone.
