Every since I got the phone it had problems with reception but I rarly used it for emergency only. I ended up going back to the dealer like the 3rd day and telling him this and he told me don't worry new software for your phone comming out will fix everything.
Guess what he was right. it did help a BIT.
I send my Nokia 8390 that was bought oct28th last year from rogers store a like end of july. and Finaly after i send it in repair store they tell me they fixed it "tweak occilator and firmware check". Came back next day they did nothing.
So they send it to Nokia. 2 WEEKS later nokia sends it back to them and doesn't touch it and said there is water damage and phone is not functional. WTF WTF I go nuts and they send it back to Nokia for reinspection. THEY DID NOTHING and told me they didn't look at it because it is water damaged. I finaly got the phone i put in sim card and phone works BUT repcetion still SUCKS. like it takes 2-3 tries to make a call. and still droped calls.

So I went to my friend's dad who repairs all sorts of watches. Because i wanted to see the inside of this phone to see if there was any water damage and he had the screw drivers.
He opened it up and here's what he saw.
"DO YOU NOTICE NO DAMAGE BY WATER AT ALL ??"
WHAT THE HELL IS NOKIA TALKING ABOUT ?!?!?
They just don't want to fix my 8390.
And are they ALLOWED TO SCRATCH MY PHONE like that ?
it's MY PROPRIETY I bought it from them they can't SCRATCH IT.

Here's the pics

In the UK we have a government group called trading standards... they would have this sorted in a month. There will be consumer laws in the states like we have here. Do a bit of research, print them out, take them to the place where you bought your phone and tell them they have 10 days to have you a working phone or you will contact your lawyer.

I live in Canada.
I went to the store but it was at costco which is like a whole sale place type store. I went there and they can't do anything because the 30 days has passed. They tell me to call rogers. and rogers tells me first 30 days we deal with it and after you must contact nokia which is what happened.
Should I tell this to Nokia ?
Does ANYONE see any water damage ?
Should I tell them they VANDALIZED my phone as well ?

If you reported it within the first 30 days.... it is their problem.

All you have to say is the two magic words... 'My' and 'lawyer'.

Mate-I am sorry for the way you were treated, but this is standard nokia treatment.I repair so called 'liquid ingressed-beyond economic repair 'phones on a daily basis. There is slight humidity evidence on the earth straps on the main board and some damage on the keypad contact, but not enough to cause any real damage. You didn't include a foto of your battery as this is the first thing they look at .It has a red ink line on the end of the battery and if this line is slightly blurred;you are a gonna-liquid ingressed !! It is not fair, but this is how nokia get out of fixing the majority of the warranty claims they recieve. How do I knowthis-well I worked in the industry for years b4 I started to repair phones and saw your problem repeatedly, and I am now kept employed fixing so called ingressed phones everyday. It is a rort of the highest degree, but I don't think there is any way out of your dilemma via legal means, however the threat of bad media[news papers/television] may do the trick quite nicely!! Good luck dude
