You all are right.
There could be a better way to inform new users about the important things in the rules in short words like "no "send me" please" on the top of every thread or something, because most of the new users don´t read the rules before posting.

And I also understand people like johnnyspliff and the mods / admins who are pissed on of all these "send me´s" in very short time. But like Schizo said: Please stay friendly.

Schizo, you have a point, and truth be told, I was extremely pissed off in general last night.
Everyone was a newbie once.
But it does annoy me, the way someone's very first post on this forum was a send me post. I mean, the very first topic you see when you log onto this forum is "new rules - please read before posting". If people can't be bothered to do this, (hell, some people read them, and still break them), then they should not be here. It's a simple set of rules and if followed, makes life easier for everyone here.

This community is, as it's title says a Reverse Electronic Engineering Community

Because some people missderected the use of some forums...like this one...others find it legitimate to shape this forum for they own purposes.

but if u stay....u follow our forum rules...no one gives u dispenses for no reason.

I remember a time long ago where this forum used to be a much better place.. There was a less interference of the mod's, n free sharing used to take place.. OK fine there's rule which says no "send me's", but i still haven't understood why that rule prevails..? Is there any decent reason for it, or is it jst way for the rulers of this forum to impose authority n restrictions.

let me jst say that don't think it's the web pages, servers, bandwidth etc which make up this forum, it's the forum members... without ppl like schizo this forum wld still be sitting in the stone age discussing about how to format your 7650 when something goes wrong....

Sometimes allowances have to be made...! that is why this world is governed by not just LAW but also by human judgement (that is why we have judges n not jst a book of LAW sitting in the judges book).

To aussie: That's stupid. Comparing EULA and stickys is not possible, it's two completely different things. When i install software, i skip the EULA, but i READ THE README FILE! It usually contains changelog and other interesting things - and basic info on how to use the software.

To all: Only newbies don't care about the stickys in forums. They think it's only rules and not important info. Smart people read the stickys, cause theres usually important information, and also answeres for frequently asked questions. And smart people want to know the rules, so that they don't sound dumb and loose respect from others members when they post a thread, clearly breaking the rules.

I still stick with my origianal view and I'm with the mods on this one. At the end of the day, the guy didn't bother to read the rules. It's not just this forum. Every newgroup and forum has a strict set of rules that must be abided by, and I've seen people being banned for not following them (even though they might not have realised what they were doing).
