Hello lads! I've read an article in a magazine, that in the near future the 7560 will support extra built in memory. NOT mmc, NOT the same old compressed memory. The user must send it at the nokia centrals in his country, and they'll "stick" the extra memory on the 7650's
motherboard!

I don't know when the mem will be available, or if all this is true at all!

What do y' all think?

Theoretically, the 4mb memory of the 7650 could be upgraded. The manufacturer or a third party vendor could remove the memory module and replace it with a higher capacity memory chip (say 8 mb or 16 mb). But I see no reason why Nokia would opt to do this, it's time consuming, costly, and it wouldn't be profitable for them, specially now that they're coming out with the Nokia 6600. Just imagine if Nokia offered a memory upgrade for the 7650 then, who do you think would purchase the 3650? I think one of the main reasons why Nokia did not include an MMC slot in the 7650 back then is because it would have an adverse effect on the sales of the 9210. Nokia can come out with a perfect fone (or an almost perfect fone) if they wanted to, complete with large on board memory, an expansion slot for mmc or sd, large tft lcd screen, stereo sound, etc.. but they won't, why? coz if they make a perfect fone, who would ever want to upgrade, it's all about making a buck. That's why don't expect Nokia to come up with a memory upgrade for the 7650.

I've heard that this upgrade is already available from 3rd party companies but it is expensive and you run the risk of seriously damaging your phone. Sorry i don't have a link, it was a long time ago that i read about this.

Electronics have a limited life in terms of usability n features. I feel that you shd change cells within a period of 6months to a year at the most, if you wanna stay up todate with technology. I mean lets face it, how long cn we keep downloading symbian apps n games which will continue to work on the 7650's limited memory.. I say 6600 rules, go for it. I've you've gotta survive a few weeks like a pauper jst to save up the money, do it...
Cheers
