java "app" problem

i used to have alot of java apps installed in the app area...but one day when i opened the folder...nothing is in the app folders anymore...anyone knows why ??

and then a few weeks later,i tried to reopen and then it hangs and then the app shuts itself saying theres an error..

but when i remove the mmc the apps area could be opened with options to choose...

can anyone help or explain why does the problem occur??

i had a similar prob nearly a month ago.

the prob was that i installed a java app what created a folder included trailing charachters. so the java apps manager couldn't start.
i had to remove that dir using seleq, becouse FExplorer couldn't handle the removal...

which folder should i delete..
the whole midp? cause i don really need those java games anyway..but i don really know which folder to delete ....

ive tried deleting the midp...and the problem is still there....the whole app program is not moving..and after a while it says sytem error...ehhe..so wat do i do..do i need to delete some folders in c: ?

No! I ment if you find a folder IN the c:\system\midp or e:\system\midp dir which's name contains trailing characters (eg. "@", "\", "/", "$", etc), you should try to remove the trailing chars (rename) or delete that dir.
And that doesn't guarantee success. It was solution for my prob.

well it work in the end...ive deleted both the c and e: folders....
and i just tried reinstalling 1 java game..and it takes forever to load the app manager..
well at least it works in the end though..hehe..thanx for your help :)

I think u might of deleted the ChildInstaller
I have a 6600 where I cant play java games as it says ChildInstaller closed
I had a similar problem to symbian applications where it said App:Switcher closed and I logged on to gprs and searched for switcher.sis downloaded and solved the problem but I couldnt find ChildInstaller

i get this prob sometimes with my 3650 too, mmc gets loose and i cant go into the mmc.
