256MB and 512MB MMCs on 3650

I'm currently looking into upgrading the MMC in my 3650. But i heard that 256MB and above cards arn't fully supported. I.E. some work, more don't.

So I'm looking for people who have tried these sizes of cards, to give us their make and size of MMC that work or dont work. So I can make an informed choice. Basically It would be nice to know exactly which 256 and 512 MMCs work goddammit..

well, i read in a forum somewhere else, and with pics, tt TEC 512 mb mmc work on 3650 version 2.5! well, its from taiwan, and it costs ard 250 US (i tink).

i tink i read bout tt mmc card on tis forum too, try a search.

Hmm...is this possible? When I've looked in the stores here, everyone tells me MMC cards don't go past 128...and, I'm living in Taiwan. :rolleyes:

yesterday i buy a 256 mb mmc-card on ebay from extrememory. i know that the card is ok for 3650. price = 70€ thats 80$, thats ok for 5 full movies or gb-roms, or mp3-files, or, or, or...

Thanks for starting this thread guys. 8-) I had given up on a larger MMC. I'll be hunting down a 512 from Ebay, and I'll reply here when I get it, and let ya'll know.

not every brand of 512 works, u either get a compatible one for ur fone, or u might haf to upgrade ur fone firmware, insist to test 1st. personally, i tink 128 is enough.

256mb mmc will work as long as your firmware is 3.31 for 3650
I'm using a 256mb u-tek card
cost me about SD$135 = USD$77.14286

A friend of mine has u-tek 512mb
it works on his 3650.

Not all 128MB MMC cards work either. A friend bought a cheap noname 128MB MMC and it would not work in his 3650, even though it worked fine on aPC using a card reader.

Anyway he returned it and got it replaced with a 256MB MMC card and it works fine :D


Offhand I don't know what firmware version he has, but I read a post somewhere else stating that you needed a specific firmware version or higher to use 256MB cards, and his firmware is older than that.

I just ordered a 256mb Sunbrico from Ebay. Ill let everyone know if it works. I have asked others and they said that their Sunbrico works fine.

I have try everything , i formated my card with windows and then put it on n-gage it still doesn't recognise it.

Could you help me because i know some of you have the same memroy card mmc
from extremmemory and it's working on your phone.
Have you try it on a n-gage???
Do you know if i can change firmwre ??

well, it wun detect, it wun work. unless theres a firmware upgrade, which i see u r aware, but unfortunately, there isnt one out yet. so u either change it to another brand, or u get a 128 mb one.

agree 100% wid tzeonn.

128MB is enuff for any fone as of now....and later u can always upgrade.

Moreover 128MB will work wid almost all fones.

btw, Im usin PQI 128MB and still 30-40MB free :p

Dat shud not matter.

BACKUP all data on da fone and old MMC to PC wid pcsuite.

Replace da card on fone, format new MMC and then RESTORE from PC.

I think u need to restore only MMC, altho full restore shud also work.

ok mate, thanx. but i aint getting a 256 now... im broke getting the ngage and a 128, guess im gonna haf to wait for nxt yr.....
