I have purchased a Nokia 3310 which was described as faulty. When you plug in power supply there is no lights or screen. I have read the flash file which turns out to be 3315 flash but shows the following error after read

Impossible to find PPM begin
String "EEPROM" not found
String "EEPROM" not found

Can anyone help me out as I cant seem to flash with a new file.

Also connecting a Mbus file it says no phone connected.

Cheers

Update. When I attempt to flash with either 3315 or 3330 flash the phone leds light up for a second while it attempts to erase current flash before uploading new flash. It then fails to erase the current flash file. I am using rolis nokiaflasher.

Any suggestions would be so grateful!!

FLS1_Write : written block (4 bytes) starting from 00200034
FLS1_Read : read block (256 bytes) starting from 00200000
FLS1_Write : written block (4 bytes) starting from 00200034
FLS1_Read : read block (256 bytes) starting from 00000000
FLS1_Write : written block (4 bytes) starting from 00200034
FLS1_Read : read block (256 bytes) starting from 00000020

at this point it stops, any suggestions?

is the phone a 3310 or a 3330???

I have had this and am desperatly trying to remember how to fix it.

When I had it, it was a 3330. what I had to do was flash a eeprom (not a virgin eeprom that didn't work) I read it from another 3330 and wrote it to the broken one. it then started charging (because instead of pressing the power button I plugged the charger in).

then flashed with MCU & PPM

All of this was done with rollis.

Hope some of these tips help.

Best Regards

Mark

I used your eeprom but did not help my phone, still seems dead after flashing.

I then got a hold of a 3330 fubu flash. I flashed this to the phone and again still nothing.

Could someone confirm I am flashing correct, do I still need to flash a virgin eeprom to this, if so in what order.

The PPM is the part of the flash that holds things like language's and other bit's it not part of the eeprom, the eeprom hold all the security data like the imei and the lock info,

- scrap that I just read it again and you said PMM

Not 100% sure what that is, will find out and come back to you

Using Knok fully erase the flash file leaving you with a blank phone!

Are you 100% sure that the phone is a 3330 and not a 3310?
If you flash a 3330 flash file to a 3310 it will not work as the 3310 has a 2Mb flash chip and the 3330 has a 4MB!
Try flashing a 3310 flash to the phone! if it was a 3315 before that means that you have a 3310 and not 3330!

One way to tell if it is a 3310 or not is to write a 3330 flash to it and and then read it off, using hex workshop compare the file before and after and see if they are the same!

Ok done what you said, flashed a 3330 flash and compared the original to the one flashed, both the same....great I thought, then stupidly tried a 3410 flash, the comparison with the original 3410 and the phone file was identical too.....where does that leave me now? 3330, or 3410???? One thing for sure Im certain it aint a 3310.

3330 and a 3410 both have 4Mb of Flash memory so whatever you write as long as it is under (or equal to) 4mb the flash will read the same as what you write on to it!
So basically you have a 3330!

Has anyone you know got a 3330?? if so just read their flash and write it on to yours, this is better than using ones off the net as you know that it should work!

When you wrote the eeprom data zone did you flash it to the right part of the flash chip (right address) on the 3330 it should be 00550000!
Try flashing and MCU + PPM first and then the Eeprom after to the address above, if this doesnt work read the file off the phone then use G3n0lite to fix all the checksums! This will sort out most problems!

By the way the PMM is part of the eeprom but you can get it mixed up with the PPM which is the language part! (easy mistake) it will often say that it is not there as it cannot always locate it!
