Apolagies if in the wrong area but couldn't find one that suited an old phone?

Got an old Nokia 450 which is on Orange Pay as you Go.
Type NHK-4RY

Has anyone got any idea how to unlock it?
I've searched this forum and the net for hours and hours and nothing comes up.
I've done the Lock check and found only SP Lock 2 still restricted, the rest are free.

Can anybody please help????? :-?

IMEI: 495026100639840

Many thanks!

To be honest, I have a feeling this is a dct2 phone...BUT I may be very wrong :).

Don't get your hopes up, from what I remember, I had real problems helping another member unlocking lock 2...GID1, which I couldn't figure out how to use the calculator, it wouldn't except the correct GID1 hex.

Unless someone else has an idea, I'm sorry but it doesn't look too good.

Though I would point out that if it is an older phone, orange will unlock it for free I believe.

Try and good luck :)

Hi Bob,
Thanks again for the reply. It was me you tried to help last time. I thought I'd ask again some time later as there might be someone else that has been through this with an ancient phone :)

I rang Orange and they said £20 please to unlock. I refuse to pay that to unlock it so I guess it'll have to stay as it is unless I can make up a cable for it somehow and do it that way.
I've looked for info on cables for this phone but can't find anything, most places only sell current phone cables.

Thanks again Bob. Will let you know if I get the thing unlocked.

Nokia 450?? Is it the UK Orange network???

I ask because if memory serves Orange in the UK have never sold a 450.

They sold the:-

Nokia 5.1 (2110)DCT2
Nokia 502 (8110)DCT2
Nokia 402 (5130)DCT3
Nokia 702(6110 or the 1800MHz equivilent)DCT3

And on to newer phones

Hope this is of some help

Best Regards

Cheers loads Mark,
That info does help a fair bit.
You are correct, it is an Orange 5.1. I should have said that but thought keeping it Nokia specific (Nokia 450) would get a better response as that is the model from Nokia.

Will go see if I can dig more info up on 2110 now :)
Any ideas on the cable or should it be done via keypad codes?

Thanks again

Bob was right it is a DCT2, now I have never unlocked one of these, never really needed to.

But I do know that the code calculator you were trying use is probably the way I would have tried.

Try this code- 4773326879

These were the instructions with it:-

The Service provider (SP) lock is used to lock the
cell phone to the SP's
SIM card. Once the cell phone is locked to a
specific operator if you
insert another SIM card from a different operator the phone
will refuse to accept
it. The phone will however accept another SIM card
from the same operator.

All Nokia phones from the 2110 series onwards have
four different SIM
locks
which can be accessed by typing in the main code:

#pw+MASTERCODE+X#

This code is used to check, activate or remove the
SIM card restrictions
(SP-Locks).

Use the * key to get the p, + and w characters.
MASTERCODE is a unique 10
digit code based on the phones IMEI number (more
about that in a moment!).
X
is the number (1-4) of the lock you are working with:

#pw+1234567890+1# (provider-lock)
#pw+1234567890+2# (network-lock)
#pw+1234567890+3# (provider-lock 2)
#pw+1234567890+4# (SIMcard-lock)

If you just need to check your phones lock status
just use the code as
given
(ie with the 1234567890).

NOTE: these codes MUST be used with care...
apparently it is only possible
to type in about three different codes on each lock
before the phone
blocks
you out COMPLETELY!!

OK, how do you find out your mastercode? Attached is
a program which will
work this out for you. Run it and you will be asked
for your Service
Providers code (if you need other Service Providers
Codes you'll find them
in Logomanager):

> > Cellnet 234-10
> > One2One/Virgin 234-30
> > Orange 234-33
> > Vodafone 234-15

and then your phones IMEI number (enter *#06# into
your phone).

Hope this helps

This could also be the reason it's not working!

Thanks Mark.
Tried the code but says NOT ALLOWED.
That was on Lock 2 which is the only one remaining. The rest are free.

Would you happen to know where I would get a Schematic for this phone?
Also, do I only need to connect the MBus and Ground wires to the phone to get a connection with say Logomanager or an unlock prog?

I've opened up one of my cables (using red and black) and hooked up to the phone but Logomanager won't connect.
I'm more likely messing it up!
Any ideas?
My plans are to hook up MBus and unlock with a prog instead of codes.

Thanks a great deal for your time Mark.

I have a cable in a box with a universal unlocker that I never use, but I don't have any software to unlock them wih cables. I would guess that its not the same as the DCT3 unlock programs in the same way that DCT4 unlockers are not the same.

Also I don't know if logomanager will support the phone.

You are welcome to borrow the cable if you have software, you will need a 9 pin gender changer though.

PM me your address if you want to try it.

Thought I would post this instead of PM as others may be able to comment.

Just got your PM and when into the back to find the cable, and it's not what I thought.

The picture below is the cable that I have, it's been ages since i've even seen a 2110 will it fit??

It only has one pin??

Anybody know??

Mark

Regardless it's on it way to you.

Cheers Mark,
Looked at the pics and from what I can see I don't think it will work. Can't see where the single pin will go on the phone?
It truly is an old phone and you are probably wondering why I'm bothering with it but it came with my car with full hands free kit so only use it as a car phone and want to swap over my current sim (in 8310) into the car phone.
That and the fact it's a challenge and I don't want this old croaker phone to beat me!! lol

Do you (or anyone) know where I can get a connector for the 2110 to make up a MBus cable?
It's a fidly little connection with the smallest copper tabs.
Too small to try and make something up.

I've attached some pics of the phone connector (excuse the poor quality but gives you an idea of size and shape.)
