S300 screen problem

hi, I have a S300 phone, the outer display works but goes off completely after 10-15 seconds after closing the phone and only displays the clock again if you open and close the phone.
Does anyone have any info on how i can solve this problem?????

have you tried hold the side button on the phone for a couple seconds?.. It's supposed to illuminate/display the time/date if u do that.. GL
