Im gonna go out in town some time this week to an nsc to updated my 3650's firmware so i can have a bigger mmc.

I was just wondering if there were any consequences e.g deleting all data and stuff like that.

Cheers

It might look a bit dodgy if they look at the menu and theres 70 different icons!

And with launcher and all they'll get confused!

*THEY'RE NOT BRIGHT!*

Wot is ur existing firmware? Is bigger MMC dat much of a big deal 4 u?

Many a 3650 have been lost to da upgrade.

Read wot happened to yuppo's fone. Is ur fone under warranty?

If not....I wud advise against it!

If its under warranty then go for it BUT make sure to del all ur stuff before u surrender ur fone @NSC cuz if u got warez on ur fone, da warranty is void ;)

bullshit, they dun care bout warez, and warr is not void if u install warez. they flash the fone anyway, so u end up wif nth, either u like it or not.

tzeonn have u been ther? I have!

I got my fone replaced wid a new 1 from NSC a coupla months back.

They blamed it on everything from water logging to warez, damage due to which is NOT covered under da warranty.

If sumthin goes wrong...they(NSC) will blame everything else....except da fone - been ther....done dat!

IMO its better NOT to have warez on da fone when u take it to NSC except for licensed stuff.

From what i see of your firmwire version, it is due for an update..

But if u have problems with your dealer then u should look for advise from ppl who have dealt with them..

Over here it doesn't matter what u have installed in your phone, coz as the dealer will delete all the data while flashing, it doesn't make a diff..

Oh yeah i got it back!

They actually did it properly!

I was expecting to have to send it off for 2 months for repair or something rediculous!

Does anyone know where i can buy a compatable 512 mmc online?

I been on the 7dayshop but they've only got 256.

Cheers

You could have easily just took out the mmc. Assuming you install everything there, there would have reset the phone but not the card. :) And once you put the card in back on the phone all of the programs would show up again and most would work right away. As for the 128mb not being enough for you.... I'm still on 16mb because I can't afford anything else. :( Any chances you'd sell that one to me cheaply? But I also live in the US. By the fact that you are using a 7650 as a backup I assume you're not. But on the bright side, MMCs are small and hardly weight anything, so shipping it to me would be inexpesive if you did sell it to me.

The US has just really started to get into the wireless scene, and wireless accessories are somewhat expensive sometimes.

yup, u r right bout the mmc part. i store everything in my mmc, den nokia upgraded my firmware, and i had to organise all the icons. some app that show u an error when u use it, juz install it again.

anyway, ebay is ur best bet for cheap mmc.

Have you ever taken your phone for an upgrade tzeonn?

Cus I took my 3650 to a nokia care centre, had its firmware updated from 2.50 to 3.16 and I asked them if all my apps and other stuff will be saved, and I was told yes.

I got my phone back, and what do you know. Its still there.

And they don't give a shit about your apps, its not their job to go sniffing through your phone for dodgy material as quite frankly its invasion of your privacy which could get em in trouble.

So, it doesn't always get rid of apps when you upgrade your firmware. :-P
