hey guys ;
im sooo happy because i find out a way that i can read arabic sms on my nokia 3650 ...... BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT I CAN READ MESSAGES AND I CANT WRITE AN MESSAGE IN ARABIC ... but better then nothing ....
to make ur mobile reading arabic sms you dont even need to install any application or some ive just try this ;
i made i new folder on c:/system/Fonts
and i copy a file in it and its 100% working.....
sooo no need to crack any progyy like ARABIC WRITTER.sis
if any one is interested send back ......................

heh, seems like news spread fast.
he's not lying , it does work. however. it bothers me really.
u need to get the demo from the egyptian company, remember it? it will creat a folder called c:/system/fonts so u would just copy a file .gdr file inside it, and then remove the program, restart the phone and it'll read the arabic sms.
however. it only reads like 90% as its mentioned in the zip file. not to mention
i tried removing it many times , its always being in use.
does anyone knows what file specifies the fonts path to use?
im sure its somewhere in data folder. ;l
i think the letter "KAF" and "MEEM" and some few letters are missing as well as "LAM"
but u can always understand whats written.
another thing.... it still bothers me. though i've closed most of the hidden tasks "ended up crashing my phone" restarted. took off the battery. blah didn't work.
dont say i didn't warn ya. i might end up formatting the cellphone
or probably do few more tricks to figure out whats wrong.
if any of u guys have a yahoo group or something. i could always send it to him and upload it over there.

Sorry crazy_b but I can't belive that coz u have to copy a font file to make your 3650 recognize arabic "or any other lang" and what ever the font was "ttf or gdr" symbian os 6 will not recognize arabic or hebrew without using a specially designed program like that one u mentioned.
so if i'm rong and u really did it just till us what is that file and let us try........

OK crazy_b i'll try it any way i think i have that damn demo some where and it's so easy to install it and then remove it again as meanguy mentioned!!!!!!!!!
i still don't know how it will work...after all,ceurope.gdr is one of the original font files that comes with your nokia (u can find it in Z:\System\Fonts) and sure we all know that original fonts dose not support arabic!!!!!!!!
any way i'll give it a try and let u know if it work with me.

heh, cuz its not reading the whole thing. and think about it as "LINUX FREAKS" we often just go all the way to compile stuff then remove it after it works. just to know that it works, "shrugs" well, the fonts are crapy i dont like them. and there are some letters missing. and still, I CAN"T REMOVE IT !!!! ;l so thats not a good thing. why have a file that is stuck with u forever and u dont know how to remove it or fix it later. "bad habbit" anyhow, there's another rumour about another files, that enables u to send/recieve arabic fonts. im gonna try 1st before uploading anything.
i dont wanna be blamed for ruining ur phones guys.
and no, its not the file that is originally in z:\system\fonts.
its a file inside 6600 , since we all know that it can send/recieve arabic. so they just took the file and uploaded it. though i have to make sure of the new way. and i'll let u know if it works.
and , u should probably give the credit to the person who figured it out. we'll see.
just be patient alittle more.

Okay.. Its easy to get rid of the file.. I did it.. Just rename the directory.. Restart your phone and voila.. Delete the directory.. Not that difficult..

To try out what u told.. I have to get my hands on a 6600 first.. And then i'll let you know.. Since you are not sharing the font file you have..

which was it again.. geurope.gdr?

personally i would share it. but dont say i didn't warn ya!!!
i'll put it in antiviral's link, 1st u install the falcon.sis
then copy the file inside c:\system\fonts
after that restart. and then remove the falcon program
i'll put both the arabic.sis and the ceurope.zip font.
just give me 10 mnts and check out the folder.

i put everything u need inside arabic_writing_reading3650.zip in the yahoo group above.

I am unable to restore my Nokia original font I cannot delete the ceurope.gdr from c:\system\fonts I tried to rename the directory but I couldn't please help me

i leave for 2 days and the thread is dead!!!
ok first, it really WORKS (sorry crazy_b) but wait a minute it still true that u didn't say it's the 6600 font file..how i suppose to know that by my self man?
also it still true that u have to use that progyy to make it work (i think it uses a .dll file or somthing)
any way i say, let's try to improve that method first by getting all font files of 6600 then try to figure out the files that specify the fonts path to use and try to copy all of these to 3650 and try to make our own fonts path and see if we can fool nokia or just come out with mass distruction (of our lovely phones of course)

hmm. actually i had some problems connecting to the site in the past 24 hours.
anyways. i did format my whole cellphone "memorycard and phone" for like 3 times, testing stuff and shit, not to mention i had a corrupted MMC. its now 122 though it was 128 :P not that bad.
its true. u dont need that special program ..
all i had to do is creat a folder in c:\system called it fonts
and placed that font file in it. and voila. it didn't need this
however that program seems to be important for typing.

still, it doesn't show the last letter if it's alone. basically i got rid of the writing program. since i dont write in arabic. all i need is to understand what they send me.

i wonder if its really the file ...
u know what im thinking of?.. is there a way to make ur own gdr file? or convert ttf file? "windows fonts" ..
im sure someone thought about it. orrr...... dunno man. out of idea.

yah there is a way to convert ttf to gdr but not directly u have to convert it first to BDF then gdr but it's noty working with symbian os 6

and u can use ttf directly on symbian by using a freetype.dll
i'm not sure but i think that is what the programmer of arabic.sis did
also there is an arabic gdr font called jaridah.gdr but it's for EPOC not symboian check this link (they also have some good tools over there)

and hey don't use this font with your 3650 coz some people did that with ceurope.gdr installed and they fucked there phones

hmmmmmmm. well, just now that u mentioned it, about the arabic.sis
it creats files in c:\system\fonts
cougar1,cougar2,cougar3,cougar.dll <-- eh?! and cougar.ttf <-- u could get another .ttf and rename it.

since it's already cracked, if u have arabic ttf's i dont mind exchanging them with cougar.ttf .... hmmm.
seems interesting. except for one lovely news..... i dont use windows. lol
so i'll leave this mission to u

i'll see if i have arabic fonts in one of my folders...

btw, thanx for the warning.. lol, i was thinking of doing that. but i dont see how that would "FUCK UP" my cellphone. worst case, "log into safe mode" delete fonts and reboot..

what ever u do meanguy don't even think about it even some nokia official centers couldn't fix that prb. "although some other centers did it by flashing the phone" and the guys how crached there phonens tried every thing (safe mode was the first choice) but it just nothing seems to work!!!!
about using win ttf font... hmmmmm not a bad idea but u know y i didn't think about it?
coz the program is not cracked yet so it still the same prob no matter what font u really use

well, i did place those fonts in for the fonttest folder, if u place them in the phone memory u'll be asked to register. if u place them in the MMC, it would work.

IT'S NOT THAT SCARY the problem seems to happen only if u put 2 gdr fonts in system directory.
in fact when i discovered that link about a month ago i used that jaridah.gdr alone "lucky me" nothing happened to my phone but the font didn't work

meanguy, yes i figured out that u can use E:\system\fonts inplace of C:\system\fonts coz upon restarting the phone will load fonts in any
anydrive:\system\fonts...good news coz now no fear of fucking up ur phone just use the E:\ and if any thing gos wrong just remove the MMC and use some card reader to get the shit out of it
and no tahoma will not work i've tried it before
it's better to concentrate on gdr fonts "supporting both latin & arabic characters" or converting ttf>bdf>gdr
any one got ideas here ????

argh. i managed to convert jaridah.ttf to .bdf form. now if SOMEONE WOULD JUST DOWNLOAD THE SDK SHIT AND GET THE STUPID FNTTRAN , MAYBE WE CAN GET SOMEWHERE... THANK YOU..

anyways. the bdf has been created. and completely viewable.

its done its done now...i used the handy file....it is really better than seleq.....now all the fonts are perfect..the english and the arabic.....really thank u guys...and about the 90% arabic....it is better than nothing:)

It worked on my 7650 also.

another warning please take care of the gdr files, as I added a wrong filre on my 7650 (Jaridah.gdr, which is written for EPOC) on C:\system\fonts
my phone does not start it show nokia startup only so take care
as this proble can be solved if you are using 3650 and u added font file
on the memory card and you can just remove the memory card and start phone the you can move file.

Also there is a partial flash of PPM for 3650 which can also fix this problem on 3650 and there is no such file released for 7650, if any one found it please tell me.
