people in the forum:

my friend let me borrowed her 8890, and i read its contents via rolis nokai tool and i found out that its a ROM 6 just like an 8250.

out of curiosity, so wat i did is to flash it wid 8210-8250 conversion flash file, den do the normal procedures... what i get is an 8250! only thing is one of the network it can support has weak signal, while the other one is very normal. i believe its the 900 Mhz signal is weak, while 1800 mhz has a strong signal.

wat cud be the cause of this? how cud i improve the weak network signal so that it will be operational to all networks? coz thats d main purpose why we unlock the cellphone to be able to use other simcards of other network available...

brilliant minds in this forum, please help me out give me your ideas. :confused:

you will not be able to fix this problem. what you have done is converted a tri band phone to a dual band hence problems:)

Well in fact the 8890 is not tri-band it is only dual band like 900/1900

I know this because I had a customer come back saying the his phone newly unlocked phone wasn't working on orange so I tested it on a T-mobile SIM and that didn't work either and on the nokia website it says what Frequencies it works on.

i thourght it was nokia's only tri band untill 63blabla came out. we never actually had them release over here

My guess is that probably your 900 network is ok and the 1800 netwerk is not ok... Although you mentioned it's the other way around...

As was said... it's a 900/1900 dual band.
Different hardware is used for the 1900 mhz than used for 1800...

ok man...

i havent tried flashing an 8850 wid 8250 flash... wil it be the same result? or will the two networks will be functional?

please tell ur experiences...
