Hello

Can someone please tell me everything i need to flash my firmware on my Nokia 8310?

It keeps restarting it's self every so often when using the phone.

I have been told it's £25 from someone i have been asking but i would like to try and do it myself.

Could someone post everything i need below.

Note i have a Infra Red Connection for my nokia 8310 will that allow me to flash it?

Thank you,
Chris

What you need:
DCT4 flasher cables (about £20)
8310 firmware (http://www.handy-flashpage.tk/)
Flashing software WinDCT4 (search for it!)

there was a full tutorial on flashing DCT4s:
www.unlockme.co.uk
but for some reason there site is down???

basically you flash the MCU first then disconnect the cables to 'power off' the phone when prompted to do so with WinDCT4, then when reconnect, click OK to flash the PPM.

I find its better to plug the charger in and keep it in when asked to power on the phone.

Instead of upgrading to newer 8310 firmware you can upgrade to 6510, but you have to replace the screen. I have done this and gained extra features such as autokeyguard, well eberything a 6510 has, search and read up if you wanna go with that.
