to all UK users:

after entering the code (#pw+...+1) the phone will reply with "Phone restriction off", but still won't accept other networks' simcards. the reason for the problem is that UK operators close lock 2 as well as lock 1, but currently only code 1 can be calculated. (the calculation algorythm for lock 2 is still unknown).

if your phone is locked to a UK network, you'll have to use a cable (or a direct unlock clip) to unlock your phone.

the reason you couldn't get help with unlocking your phone before is that the dct3 remote unlocking with codes is possible since a very short time ago, and it requires a clip that only a few people have.

the mcc mnc code u r useing there is the newer extended fido code

as your phone is a dct3 phone and thus usually older it still uses the old microcell code from the old days 30237 when calculations are made

the reason for the error is that the code was wrong, and it happend because the code you gave (0505687) is not the code needed.
what you have to post is the network code. the code for cingular usa is 31017.
