I followed a link to a site the other day and there was info about a new voice emulator. Anyone who had a amiga will know how much fun they used to be but it actually has a useful function too. I can read out almost anything from your phone, if it's turned on it will read out sms's, read out menu options and when someone phones you it says their name. The program is still in the beta stage but i can hardly wait for the finished version. Sorry but i can't remember the link or the name of this app, if i find it again i'll let you all know.

I've been wanting an APP like this for awhile to read my e-books. But, i hope they release a new version soon, because I tried it, and it gets quite annoying. There's no way to customize when to turn the voice off for certain things -- it reads EVERY bloody menu item, every button you push. And the commands aren't user friendly. But it's still cool, but not something I;d actually keep on my phone.

This looks ok, im hangin for the final release, that would be good for it to read ya sms's for ya when ya to tired to look at ya phones screen and get the dirty white glare at early hours in the morning :)

If you had read my post, you would see that i simply stated that I "hope they release a new version soon," and that I had some problems with the software, regardless of whether or not they would fix said niggles.
BTW I did, indeed, read the readme, and they don't necessarily plan to implement an automatic silent mode for my problem (having the software read every menu item, etc.), only for calls. And I don't think they'll be implementing a more elaborate GUI to replace the un-user friendly commands, meaning one may have to memorize the long list of commands, which can be a little confusing.

Talks 60 works, but it's useless. It seems to be made for blind people. It keeps reading all the icons and menus. Very annoying and I couldn't get it to read a text file. The biggest problem was that it spoke only thru the internal speaker/phone, so the volume was very low. Seemed to be no way to change this.
The good part is that the speech synthesis was quite ok, kind of like the old Amiga speech. But it made my 3650 very slow and hanged the phone once, so i deleted it. I would like a text to speech app that can read text files thru the external speaker. That could be useful. This isn't useful unless u are blind. 8-)
It seems to be made for blind people.
and it is! It help blind people to:
* write and read (SMS)
* (same) (MMS)
* (same) E-Mail
* recall a number
* add a name
* change to normal, silent, etc
* Use calendar appointament
* read and write text document
* read PIN dialog box and scripts generate by special command "*#06#" or "*#0000#" or "*#7370# (to format the phone )
* Use unit converter, mondial clock, alarm and others stuff.
But i was thinking tha was a good quality appl. (it's expensive), after your review I won't install it even to try....
