hey guys i just wanted to share this.
since there are no applications available yet for editing your own theme i decided to modify the climber theme and was able to do so. screenshots are available. i used bmconv application to parse the climber.mbm im still not done skinning all of it... it has 360 bitmaps in it.

uh can you help me a little? i downloaded the climber theme from yuppos group, but it's all screwed up.. didn't even try to modify it, just installed it :/

I got it working! :D

I used MBM Wizard to extract the bmp files, and the files were named something like

image17-59-09_1..bmp
image17-59-09_2..bmp
..
image17-59-09_10..bmp
image17-59-09_11..bmp etc,

and when i tried to make the mbm from those mbm wizard put them in wrong order and everything got screwed up. I just renamed those filed to image17-59-09_001..bmp etc so they are in correct order and now everything seems to work fine :)

I uploaded it to yuppos Group and it wirked very well on my phone! Just follow the instructions on the other 6600 Themes Thread!

try to find bmconv.exe, this is what i used. you'll run it and command prompt. a list of available commands are included.

I'ts a command line prog and a little difficult to use in my opinion.

Maybe you should use MBM wizard (that i mailed you). It's easier to use because it has graphical user interface.

And donaldskie, do you know if it's possible to change text color in menus etc? maybe with the ini file somehow?

i'm pretty sure its possible but i have no idea how... LOL. ill share it to you when i come across it.

there were some others also i didn't know what they were but can't remember them now.

I was thinkin about doing some kind of list what pic is what, and maybe a little tutorial how to do own themes, so we get others doing them also :)

i used the bmconv.exe file, i executed "bmconv /u epocfile bmp_1" in dos and it says the file is successfully extracted. i renamed the extracted file as bmp_1.bmp. the thing is, when i opened the file all i got was a small black rectangle with some garbled colors. i got the same results with bmp_2, bmp_3, etc. anybody knows what i'm doing wrong? i downloaded mbm wizard but it didn't work on my pc. maybe because it's windows 2k.

They must work, download dll / ocx file which programs ask and put in win sys directory.

I've edited several mbm files for themes, problem is... wil renaming the .skn file from climber work? and what will the .ini filename would be? and the folder? (101F860C). If these are possible, we can install more than one theme on the skins folder.

try unpacking the climber.rar to get a fresh copy of climber.mbm

the saving thing i tried to explain as simple as i could. but for transfer, it depends. do you have usb bluetooth dongle in your computer, or do you have ir-port or something.. use them :P

Hi,

1. When you're finished and change all bmp-s which you want to change, start mbm wizard and browse (into left side) to the dir where you saved the bmp's. Then press "Select all" and then "Add selected as X"

2. Now right window click select all, go to File -> Save as, and name the file climber.mbm

3. Then transfer with selQ or similar prog to c:\system\skin\101F860C\
