How to use internet PC connection using 6600

I've done this with my 7650 and 3650, if mrouter was activated the phone apps would auto-detect the connection and that was it!
but it seems that it doesn't work with 6600, anyone tried that? plz help..

same problem here im gettin pc suite cannot start because the device isnt ready!!!
what the hell does that mean???
im using ir connection
.sis files go on fine but i cant transfer from the nokia program

anyone know how to fix?

i don't have that problem, for me everything is working fine, mrouter is on, bt connection is established, but when i try to access the net in the phone, seems like it doesn't recognize it..always asks for the access point to use :sad:

i guess someone has to write a dummy AP for the phone to route through the mrouter...

it didn't work for me...the owner claimed that it worked for him...
can anyone try out and let me know the outcome?

Go to Settings - Connection - Access Points. Create new access point

Connection Name - Bluetooth DSL (Anything really)
Data Bearer - GPRS (Even if you don't have access to it)
Access Point Name - (Important must be the name of your PC shared via BT !!! Check Bluetooth - Paired Devices to be sure)
User name - None
Prompt password - No
Password - Leave as is
Authentication - Secure
Gateway IP address - 0.0.0.0

Now go to settings - connection - GPRS

GPRS connection - when needed
Access Point - (Same as access point name of computer on BT connection <check paired devices> )

Now start PC Suite. Open Mrouter make sure your com port is ticked for serial port.

Start your BT software and set up a connection as normal for serial port. PC Suite should show that phone is online and connected.

If all is ok, you can now start Doris and surf the net via BT using your computer internet connection. Modem must be online but as you have a dedicated connection this is not applicable in your case.

It can,t be done. Don,t ask me why,the reason I know is because I have tested everything hehe I have search several forums for tips,spend hours with my phone and pc. New accses point, mrouter,firewall,pcsuite u name it. What we need is a Geek ( I mean that in a good way) to write us a program or something. If u are a geek feel free.............

i have also same problem .. but i also cant connect pc suite.. coz i using Mitsumi bluetooth manager. . some time i use xtend blue manager it connect pc suite with my phone via bluetooth but some time not every time. i dont know why .. some time xtend blue manager give error the port is allready used some like this .. what i do .. i want connect internet in my mobile ( also remember i m using My computer Lan connection .. i dont have modem in my pc )

Hey, i am using both 6600 and N-gage,
and follow the link above...its failed to work.

after trying the last command
rfcomm 2 <address> 2

it shows
Press Ctrl -C
Disconnected....

so what's wrong? N-gage also doesn't work??

it works for ngage no probs, not for 6600 tho, just do exactly what lostboi sed

Im sorry to say guys but the 6600 uses Wap2.0 and in effect some DHCP functions dont work, thereby Internet connection is not possible via bluetooth and PC.

Ngage, 7650, 3650 phones use an earlier version which does have the DHCP functions.

Basically Mrouter cannot assign an IP address to the Nokia 6600...effectively cutting off the 6600 from the net...no ip...no net...end of story...

complain to Nokia...or get an ngage instead...

Im going back to my Ngage....this function alone makes the Ngage way better than the 6600...and for that I feel good ;)

I love how I can access the net without paying rip-off charges to the stupid cellular companies....give em the finger I say...

If my Nokia 6600 still has Bluetooth on, and I startup my Computer ... the Bluetooth Tray always detect is connect it. And without me knowing, the battery drains away again. GRRR

Anyway, I just disconnect it. But you guys say it doesn't auto-connect? Does for me, and its annoying me ...

I can get an IP address assigned to the phone... and then ping that address from the PC.

But then the phone will then drop the whole connection after a minute or so... so I agree somethin is up with mrouter, but on the phone side not the pc side.
