View Full Version : 8210 Security Code annoyance

Hello again,

I've managed to get my 8210 back to life after a bad flashing expierience, thanks to Knoefz and Instant Moments for your help.

Now when I switch on my phone it asks for the security code. I've tried 12345 knowing this is the code as I've never changed it but it gives me 'code error'.

I then proceeded to connect to Logomanager and use phone explorer to read the code with my data cable but LM kept saying not connected, as did Nok tool v3.03 when I tried that.

Is this because the phone needs to be fully booted before either of the afore mentioned programmes will recognise it? If so, what other ways are there of finding out the security code???

this is becoming a great learning curve

cheers

Did you flash you eeprom area with another flash than you own backup?? If you did you probably have different phonecode now.

If you make a full flash of you phone, you can use NFree 1.2 (yes the one from this very site!) to find security code. You can download it from the main page.

No my backup didn't work when I flashed it so I downloaded one from a web site that I was reffered to. I'll try Nfree 1.2 and see what happens.

Nope, NFree didn't work. then I noticed in the 'About' Menu that it said

PMM- / Securitycodefunctions do not work with :
8850, 8210, 3310
yet.

Anybody got any other suggestions?

Cheers

Hi,

I should say get windows lister (text viewer) and
switch to 16 columns hex mode (F3, then 3).
Find the string 'eeprom'
On the third hit there should be the eeprom start.

From there it is 136h (310) bytes further.

like eeprom starts at 3F.A000
then the sec code is on 3F.A136

Thanks for the info.

I'm using a text (hex) veiwer but its a different layout to the one you use so i'm having trouble in finding the string. Where can I get the viewer that you use from?

Further to my last post -- I've figured it out!!

but....

on viewing my backup .fls file ...it just tells me that the security code is 12345, but the phone will not accept that.

Would flashing a new EEPROM be the solution ??

try Reset User Interface...using noktool3.4 or knok...

I can't get any program to recognise my phone via my data cable, the guy I bought the cable from reckons that the 8210 has incompatibility problems with a lot of software, is this the case or has he just sold me a shit cable.

If its the later, then where can I buy a decent cable from???
