its only 80 dallars ( 300 dirhams ) in dubai .......
sooo i just wanna ask if it work before i get it .....

for more information go to JACKYS and ask him for the PC shop that sales CARD WRITER FOR DECODERS ......... there is only one shop there that sales those card writer SOO i just found a 512mb MMC there for 80 dollars 300 derhams ...

I dont think you can buy an MMC that cheap here in Dubai. I got my 128MB from Plug-Ins at Al Ghurair. I definitely doubt a 300-buck-512MB MMC is possible.

When I try formatting, the format fails at the last second saying "Cannot complete write to disk". After receing this error message and pressing OK, the phone says "Formatting Successful" afterwards. Wtf?

I can't write files into the folder E:/Images/Anim8d
nor E:/Images/Animations, but I can write files into E:/Images/Beach

best bet is that the card is corrupted. format it again. does the size of the card affect the access speed? for example is using a 256 meg card any faster than a 32 meg card?

ppl using 256 on their ngage told me it takes a bit longer than 128 ones.

but i tink, its the amount of stuff u installed, more space, means more stuff, so slower.

Hello again. Using the 256MB MMC card on my 6600 is slower than using the complimentary 32mb. I have formatted the 256mb seven times with no good result. Any help here? (Every now then, the phone says its "corrupt", but after restarting the phone ... I could use the images/ringtones/games/apps from the MMC like as if nothing has happenned)

well, like i alwaz sae, it depends on the mmc make and firmware.

in tis case, certain brands work, twinmos, kingmax and TEC are some brands tt 256 and above will work

and rem the golden rule, try b4 u buy. :D

just found a place at sim lim that offers 512mb mmc that offers 125 in SGP dollars.
forgot wat brand it is, but NOT kingmax/kingston/pretec/sandisk such branded ones for all i remembered.
put it in my NGAGE, went to the memory icon n it detected 490 mb.
does that means it can work on my NGAGE?
nbr buy it tho, still lookin ard for advices....

i bourght mine off ebay, and it cost me £58 postage included, so around $90 US i think. It doesnt have a brand on it, but works perfect, maybe im lucky.

I have an Ngage original (Firmware 4.03)...

I won an unbranded (polish metal finish) 512mb mmc on ebay.com.au and it runs on my ngage nicely. I won it for $100 au

I have had no probs, but some errors (and most mmc errrors for that matter) have got to do with certain files being corruptly named in the mbr sections of the mmc card.

Another words, if you run scandisk on your mmc card (check file names must be selected) it will tell you that certain files are wrongly written to disk.

Either let scandisk rename the file (although this sometimes breaks a program) or move ALL the files to your hard drive (and I mean MOVE not copy) so that it deletes those files. Then copy them back onto the blank mmc.

Problem solved.

ps...the reason the files get corrupted this way is because sometimes the ngage doesnt convert the 12bit name of the file to its 16bit name correctly while its writting it to the mmc (either wrongly partitioned or wrongly setup mmc)
