Hi,
I also use a 256MB MicroSim MMc, brought in Bahrain.
I have faced no problems untill now. I've used upto 180MB & no problems untill now. Also, after formatiing it on the N6600, I have only seen 249MB.

I think, and don't quote me on this, the phone places some necessary system files on the card, that's why it reads less then the maximum.

Can we try keep this post informative rather then a discussion. Please post details of MMCards that are confirmed to work with the 6600.

just to give some info
I work for Maplin Electronics.
One of our customers bought an "Integral" 128MB MMC for her son's N-Gage (not a 6600 but bear with me).
In her son's phone, my N-Gage, and 2 N-Gages at the local Orange shop the phones would refuse to turn on, just get a white screen.
However, a replacement worked fine.
So, if this happens to you.. you KNOW the card is knackered.

Hi there,
Me from Singapore too. Bought mine, a Kingmax 256MB from Kudos Computers, 4th Level. Bought it after reading that it's working with the 6600 here. No problems whatsoever man. Loaded with pictures, sounds and of course, those N-gage games! I just have over 100MB left in it but it's been working fine so far! The Nokia guys probably said that to make you buy from them!!

Secure Digital and MultiMedia's
Similarities
- Practically the same size
Differences
- SD cards have a slide on the top left hand corner, called "LOCK" to prevent any accidental deleting of important data
- SD cards have 8 pins and MMC have 7
- SD Devices can use MMC cards, but MMC devices cannot use SD cards
SD and MMC are totally different cards even though they are nearly the same size. Thus, the MMC Card cannot be usable on Nokia phones with a MMC slot
{Don't you ever read your User's Manual or www.nokia.com about your phone?}

Works fine! Just plugged it in and worked didn't even have to format it.
The reason why you can't use the full 128mb or 256mb is because the 1mb is 1024kb and the manufacturers do it like 1000kb is 1 mb just look at your HD size of your computer they say 80 gb but only 76 are useable.

Kingmax 256mb MMC
Just a word of warning.. i read on the allaboutsymbian forum that a lot of ppl are having probs with these MMC's. I for one have only had it a day and have used 35Mb up installing apps, wavs and .rm files and so far so good. If I get any errors will report back but this post seems to confirm that the kingmax 256 cards are fine for the 6600. Maybe thet are hit and miss!

I purchased a kingmax 256mb and had at first had no problems. Then after a while when installing apps on my N6600 it kept coming up with errors like "cannot complete write to disk". I tried formating it again and it still kept giving me errors. But what is wierd is that you can transfer files over to the card fine but only when you start installing apps does it give errors. Purchased this from e-buyer. Am sending it back for a different make.

This is at first an appeal to the moderator to make this topic sticky.
The point of this post is to allow users to inform others of Multi Media Cards that work with the Nokia 6600.
The following template should be used:
a) Make
b) Size
c) Bought from? (URL)
For example:
a) Infineon
b) 128MB
c) http://l8shop.net/Products/MultiMedia-Card-128-MB-3139.asp
Thank you

128 MB
amazon.co.uk
I formatted it first though. Seems that a lot of problems arise when cards are not formatted, so I did that as soon as i put it into my phone and it works fine.
