search for a program called KNOK and flash file for 3410 the flash files must be *.fls

You will need:

Nokia Flasher set (with MBUS converter) or Universal Box 4.0
Nokia DCT3 flasher by rolis 4.71 (or higher) software
Nokia Tool 1.9 software
MCU and PPM for particular model.
You cannot use a normal data cable.

the better flashing software is rolis 4.7x.

i find that rolis is easier to set up than knok and the interface is simpler to use.

From my many hundreds of reading/writing to my 3410 I found rolis better at reading, but knok better for writing. Obviously it's personal choice, but both do the job, although rolis is very buggy.

I would ask the question of "why" you want to update your firmware... and that's coming from someone who's into the 1000's when it come to the number of reads/writes I've done! I made a 32 bar mod, blah blah, but I still chose to go back to the version the phone came with. (And that's after the couple of months battling with faid.... bear in mind I'm not a newbie please)

Newer, even moded, is not necessarily better... the routines are too tightly packed for my liking, change something and something breaks. Mostly the battery charge routines - hence I went back to the original firmware ;)
But there are some cool things you can do - I just decided that they weren't cool anymore after the scripts started to appear ;)

Here's the 1 minute newbie guide.

Use Rolis 4.78 (not 4.79 - it's worse for 3410). Read a full backup. Save it somewhere you won't lose it. Ignore the fact it tells you the checksums are wrong, it's a bug in the program.

Use Knok to write your new flash. Make sure you write to the correct address.

Everything above requires a FLASH cable. You'll then need a DATA cable to set FAID. Search the forums for the details of why and how... knok will happily do it for you if you have the hardware.

If anything goes wrong, use knok to write the original file back and hopefully there's no harm done.
