Dear DREWFFILC.
I´m join to the Forum today. I am from Brazil (sorry my English OK)
I develop an interface to a PIC 16F627 and the phone Ericsson 1228 A.
You must use the uART feature at 9600bps, 8 bits, whitout parity. To an Ericsson it does not necessary an interface once the PIC signal levels are compatible with the Ericsson 1228 (word in AT commands is TTL level NRZ). To make a call the PIC sends ATD(number phone) in ASCII format. An incoming call presents the label (RING) in ASCII.
If you still not solve your doubt I can help you otherwise I have being the same problem to get the pinouts, levels and commands to a Nokia 5125/60 cellphone.
Sincerely.

Guess we are looking at the same issue, but mine is Nokia 7250.
What are you hoping to get out of your work?
