I already backed up my phone memory on my memory card, yet when I try to recover a different contacts.cdb (from 3650). When I try to overwrite it, the contacts.cdb is not overwritten.
Anyway, can I format the phone now just to change my contacts and restore it from the MMC's backupped phone memory?
Ahh. Wish there's an option to unlock the files used by 6600 so we could easily overwrite it. But since we don't, try this:
Method 1:
Sync the contacts from ur 3650 using Outlook and sync again for your 6600
Method 2:
(in case you don't have outlook around or for some reason can't use it)
* Make a backup of your 6600
* Copy the contacts.cdb from your MMC to your computer
* Look into the folder where the backup files are placed and look for [backup path for your nokia6600]\[phone name]\backup\filestore.dat.txt If you don't remember where your backup path is, open the PC Suite > Control Panel > Data Location
* Open the filestore.dat.txt w/ notepad or your favourite text editor and look for the contacts.cdb file. The number on the first column corresponds to the file name in the backup folder
* Replace the dat file in the backup directory with the contacts.cdb that you want to use (ie. first column says '92' for contacts.cdb then delete 92.dat then copy the contacts.cdb that you wish to use then rename it to 92.dat)
* Restore from your backup
Note that it may be possible that the 3650 contacts.cdb may be different from the 6600 contacts.cdb thus there's a chance that this routine may not work (=

Already tried that one, but the contacts does not allow it to be backed up. Strange but it asks if I should overwrite the contacts.cdb that's in the memory card.... Which is I think is another bug of PC Suite...
Anyways, the contact.cdb is still here, 110kb in file size... but I can't overwrite the contacts.cdb using FExplorer it says the file is in use.
