I've heard that if you lock one (or some) of the 4 sim locks, your phone will work only with your sim card. Is this true?? I've tried many combinations of lock, but always i get sim card not accepted.

Not quite true, but you need to put the network code in lock 1 then lock the phone, so if I wanted to lock a phone to Orange in the UK I put 23433 in the first lock and close it, then the phone will only take Orange sim cards.

Well your wrong abit as well. it can be done if you enter a code in lock two it will only work with the sim thats in at the time. I had the code written down somewhere but I lost it.

what if i put 24400 to first lock?
will it accept only finnish sim-cards 244-**??
or how i do lock to specific country code?
can that lock be set to some numbers on sim-card, eg. if i have FI24 0011 ..... starting sim-card's number i could put so that only that 0011 is accepted, if somebody has different it won't go?

How can I find the code of my sim card? I know that lock-4 is sim card lock and the sim card code is required, so that i can lock the phone to read only my sim card.

put ur sim in and turn on netmonitor
its test number 11 from memory
then the top 2 numbers
i could be wrong

User32

These 2 numbers identify the network.
I searched all the Net Monitor, but I didn't find something that concerns the SIM. Is there anything else I could try? There must be something!

User32

No! It is possible! I saw it on my friend's phone. It had only lock 4 closed with a number.

i want to lock my phone for finnish sim-cards only so that eg. swedish sim cards are not accepted.

how can i do this? i know it is possible.
one friend told me that one guy bought phone from sweden, it accepted all swedish sim-cards, but no finnish or others.

i know how to lock only for specific operator, but..
instead of 244-05 i would have it like 244-ALL accepted, others rejected :)

I've heard that if you lock one (or some) of the 4 sim locks, your phone will work only with your sim card. Is this true?? I've tried many combinations of lock, but always i get sim card not accepted.

I was told do it like this:
Set the 4th simlock on AUTO
after that the phone will lock to the first sim inserted into the phone.

However I can't seem to get it done on my 8210...
But that might be me as I've alway had troubles locking phones (not unlocking :D)

How will i set it to AUTO? The prog i use (knok-phoenix) doesn't have any "auto" option...

KnOeFz

Rolis 1.8 does have that option.

 I have a little problem with rolis 1.8: it returns error with mbus all the time. I push the auto-configure button and it says 'check mbus cable'. My dual cable is working ok with logomanager... I'm using WinXP; does it matter? How can I make it work??

A lot of phones in Portugal come locked to the SIM that it comes with, interesting isn't it...

So the auto option on lock 4 will lock to the first card inserted eh? Is this just an asumption or can you confirm this?

User32
29-08-2002, 01:35 PM
I can't confirm it because it doesn't find the cable!

Shidoshi

Hmm...

Sorry, that question was for KnOeFz :)

@Shidoshi

It wasn't an asumption... it was info passed on to me by other people.. But I already mentioned that I couldn't get it done myself.
I ended up with a fully locked phone after some fiddeling around.

Why don't you give it a shot and tell us your experience... unlocking it afterwards isn't a problem, right? ;)

I'm just a little lazy... I will give it a go though :)

Ok guys,

I got it figured out... tested and everything (especially for Shidoshi :D (Lazy dog))

You need prgram called winlock to do it, do next steps
Read phone
Set simlock 4 state on AUTO
Press Close Simlocks
Simlock closing password accepts the default 0000

After this the phone is locked to the sim inside it.. you can see "sim restriction on"or something like that on the phone display for a second when you do it.

@sinister frog:

you did copy the files from the crack folder over the files in the installes winlock folder right?
I used it on win2k without any problems.

I have WinXP and every time i run it, it asks for a DESKey device driver. What is that????

KnOeFz
30-08-2002, 01:33 PM
@ user32

That's drive driver for the (pdk1?) dongle officially needed.
But if you copy the files in the crack folder over the files in the c:\winlock folder the message will be gone.

Hmm...

Geeze KnOeFz, you really care :)
Luckily there aren't many lazy people like me around or it would be hell :)

You're da man :)

Thanks,

P.S. I'm a lazy man and I don't care, I work all night and I sleep all day!

KnOeFz

Hmm...

Me also :)

Anyway, in Portugal we have a saying: Knowledge doesn't ocupy space.

Who knows, someday you might just need to do it? :)

@user32

I don't know what you problem. Maybe install deske drivers anyway? But I'm not sure if that'll work if you have no dongle attached.

Dekey website (http://www.deskey.co.uk/support.htm)

@ Sinister Frog

Did you first install winlock, then copy files from crack folder over the existing ones? I think the soft should work with win98. If not... I dunno what's wrong...

the install program crashes whenever i run it
resulting in me being unable to install the prog
i'll try the drivers then run the cracks
