I am thinking for upgrading my phone from 7250 to 3650..
i wld like to noe if 3650 has zoom...While taking the pictures??Like zoom and take???
i saw a software in one of the yahoo groups tat allow u to zoom and u need to upload to yr phone(tat software) but i was wondering if it works??
Does it???

And also 3650 supports wav..Does it support mp3??

And if it does,can i use mp3 as a ringing tones??
OR use wav as a tone??

Is it possilbe??

As far as zooming goes, you have to have a program to ahve it zoom. and as far as having mp3 ringtones, no the phone doesnt. It also doesnt support wave files for ringtones. I am fixing to put a 3650 phone on ebay if you are intrested

The programs you refer to are either cameraFX or Photographer. Once installed, both give up to 16x digital zoom. The quality is crappy with CameraFX, but is surprisingly good with photographer, it just takes longer to take the pictures. And yes, they do work. I have both installed and use Photographer regularly.

Yes, the 3650 does support mp3s, but again, you will need a program (MP3GO is the best one) to play them. The sound is mono, but the quality is good enough even through the loudspeaker. Any mp3s you have on your computer will be with stereo sound, so you will have to convert them.

Unfortunately, you cannot use mp3s as ringtones, although you can use .wav files. If converted properly, you can get a .wav file sounding as good as a .mp3 (on your phone that us) and keep it the same size as the .mp3, if not smaller.
There is a program called Multimedia Player which allows you to create .wav playlists, although they cannot be saved, unlike the .mp3 ones. Just something to consider if you are using your phone for music.

its a well worth upgrade, if u dun mind the size. lots of prog tt lets ur fone play mp3, games, and mani mani more stuff. get it, u will like it.

All i have to do is to install this software called Photographer..Rite..So i wld be able to zoom in from far??Correct.
But the lens wld not have zoom..So how wld it recongize it??

Wen u says it supports Mp3s,u mean to able to play the songs from the phone itself??

I wld be able to hear through the ear set rite??

Yeah man if you install photographer it will allow you to zoom your viewfinder upto 1600% and it's not an optical zoom, it's a digital zoom, thats why it doesn't really depend upon the camera's hardware, i must say the quality is pretty impressive..
And you can set Wav's as ringtones, mp3's can be played on the phone using the proggie that jonnyspiff mentioned...

a symbian fone is like windows. u install games, songs, and haf lotsa great progs. of course, u store mp3 in ur mmc, den play using the application! u can onli play 3 ngage games, sonic, puyo pop and puzzlepobble, which coincidentally, all sucks, lol.

it would def help alot if u looked around tis forum, read ard, lots of stuff u can learn, get ready to b amazed by a symbian ^_^

A good idea is, to skip the 3650, make the leap to the 6600 cos, soon enuf third parties are gonna concentrate on symbian 7.0s apps for series 60 which the 6600 runs. but the 3650 runs symbian 6.1 with the earlier series 60 User Interface. I am not saying they will leave symbian 6.1 apps, but this is a possibility, they will focus less on 6.1 apps.
6600 has following upgrades from the 3650:

2x digi zoom, bit shitty but can be upgaded with software.
themes, personally i think this is great.
smaller, feels smaller, looks better, normal keypad.
better quality screen, pics and vids (with audio capture)
Loads more as well.

wav ringtones (automatically converted from MP3 by nokia suite to 16khz Mono reduces size to about a third)
GoBoy (Gameboy Colour emulator + 20 Games)
Photographer (1600x digital zoom)
Java Games & Apps
Video Camera (with sound via nokia website update)
Built in media player to play wav files converted from MP3
RealOne Player (not sure if this a feature or punsihment)

If you want a big screen get a 3650 else get a 7250i

Isha: You can play music through the earpiece or through the loudspeaker. It's your choice. Search the boards for places to download games and apps. Most are in Yahoo groups. Try Tzeonn's or Yuppo's groups. I will be creating a website tomorrow at www.spliffology.tk, so keep an eye on that aswell. The only risky program to install on your phone is WildSkinz. Avoid it at all costs.

6600 Wizard: The 7650 and 3650 have digital zoom and themes also (with the right program of course.) I still agree that you should get a 6600 if you can, cos of the size, button layout, screen and the ability to play every N-GAGE game.

Chrome8: USe Cool Edit or Sound Forge to resample to 16,000HZ, 8-Bit, Mono.

What? Screw the 7250i. well, if u wan sth smaller, den its the 7250i, otherwise its the 3650. its big, but its v useful, 7250i has not much use, onli small, looks nicer, has radio. the camera sucks too.


6600 is good, pity alot of stuff cant b installed. not till a firmware is available.

get a symbian fone mate, u wun wanna use a series 40 fone after tt.

Well, to me it's a feature. You can play movies (yes, full blown movies not trailers ) on your 3650 phone. It's quite fun, plugging in your headset in the train and watching a movie along. But u need a big MMC (128kb should be fine) as 1 movie encoded in real media format is abt (66MB - abt 2 hours) and the quality is great.

Oh yeah, to the original poster, it doesn't matter if u upgrade to a 3650 or a 6600 or a 7650. Once you go symbian u'll never turn back.

The only difference between the 3650 and the 3660 are the normal keypad and the fact that the 3660 has a 65k screen, meaning better resolution. Asides from that, they are the same.

You can install apps and games to your phone by downloading them from the internet and putting them on your phone via IR or Bluetooth (use PC Suite) or a mmc card reader.

3650 is a great phone, big screen, MMC memory card support, bluetooth, can play MP3, can play N-Gaga SONIC a well, so i recommenced 3650 rather than 7250i or Sony Ericsson T610 (if u don't compare the size).

My 3650 already installed with:

-Mp3Go ( To play Mp3 that can be install in MMC, but only no etereo output only )

-Eti Camcoder ( To record movie clip as long you want untill u use up ur memory >than half an hour )

-Alige Messenger ( chat with you friends who at home thru icq, MSN, yahoo when u inside a train, car or bus by using GPRS )

-Play N-gaga SONIC ( N-gage game on your 3650, believe it, is true)

-Watch Matrix with ur phone that u download into ur MMC.

But after all, i still waiting for my dream phone SX1.

I'm guessing that the answer is yes, but as Tzeonn said, it's better to wait and hear some reports first. In theory all apps should work because both phones use the same Symbian operating system (unlike the 6600, which uses an upgraded version - most apps don't work).
If you can bear the weird keypad, then get a 3650. It won't break the bank too much and you're guaranteed of stuff working.

YEs it does have mmc card support.

When you install the file to your phone you are given a choice to inbstall it on the phone memory or the mmc card. Liklewise, if you copy the file to your phone, it is only the installation file. When you try to install it, you will be given the same choice.

i cant confirm if its the same as 3650 os, but to send the app to ur fone, go to messages, options, settings, other. set the mem in use to mmc or fone, den send stuff to ur fone via bt or irda, which will end up in the inbox.
