Hi everyone,

the Nokia FREE team is well aware of the fact that most TDMA and CDMA phone users in the world are from the Americas, where Spanish is the predominant language.

We are also aware of the great contribution that Spanish-speaking users have made to this CDMA/TDMA forum, and we're very thankful for your support and happy to have you here as active members.

HOWEVER,

this is an English language-only forum. We expect all our members to post in English because it's the most widely spoken language there is, and so by having an English language forum we are able to reach the largest possible number of internet users and Nokia mobile phone enthusiasts.

The only language allowed for posting here is English. However, in order to try and accomodate the Spanish-speaking majority in TDMA/CDMA, we've come up with a set of rules for posting in all of the TDMA/CDMA sections of NFREE.

SO, we'd like to announce our new policy towards the use of Spanish language in thread titles and text:

1. The use of Spanish (or any language other than English) WILL NOT be tolerated in thread or post titles. Even if the actual post is in English, or contains an English translation, ANY post with a non-English title will be deleted as soon as our moderators see it.

2. If you plan on including Spanish content in your post, please do so AFTER the English version of the same content. In other words, English text comes first, Spanish text comes second.

3. Your English text must EXACTLY MATCH the Spanish text.

4. English text MUST BE INTELLIGIBLE. This should be a natural consequence of following rule no. 3, however we're stating it clearly so that there's no doubt: your English content MUST be just as clear as your Spanish text. This doesn't automatically rule out the use of online translators such as Babelfish, but you'll have to review the Babefish (or other automatic) translation in order to make your post intelligible. As you all know, the translation that comes out of Babelfish usually isn't.

5. These rules apply ONLY to the "TDMA/CDMA phones" section of NFREE. If you post non-English content in ANY other section of the forum your post will be deleted by forum moderators.

6. No other language will be tolerated for the translation. This includes French, Portuguese, Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Hindi or anything else.

7. Repeated failure to comply with the above guidelines will result in suspension and/or banning from NFREE. The ability to post a Spanish translation of your post is a concession that CDMA/TDMA moderators are making to our Latin American users, which are perceived to make the majority of users in this section. Please do not abuse this privilege.

Please note that these policy guidelines will be enforced at all times, and THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULES. If your post fails to comply with the guidelines, it WILL BE DELETED.

We'll be scanning all threads to make sure members are following the guidelines. Those who don't will be warned only ONE time, and if they insist on breaching the rules they'll be reported to the forum administration for suspension or banning.

Please DO NOT test the forum moderators on this matter.

Thank you.
