View Full Version : Email being queued in outbox on Nokia 6600 - bug?

Hi,

Has anyone seen this issue before? Looks like a bug to me.

On the Nokia 6600 when I go to send an email the phone quickly flashes sending email and then places the email into the outbox. Clicking send now does not get the email sent either. Clicking on defer and then send does not get the email sent either. If I then create another email message to send the one which was already in the outbox gets sent but the last one once again gets placed in the outbox with status queued.

I have the send setting as "send immediately". I have tried both with pop and imap email accounts as well as different email servers. I therefore believe this is a bug especially as the phone does send the email if I create another email message to send, however always the last email which I have tried to send remains in the outbox. Can anyone else confirm whether they are seeing this behaviour? Or if you have not tried to send email from the email application can you give it a try.

BTW have tried to format the phone and reload the gprs settings etc - to no avail. Also web browser works, so this looks like an email program bug?

Thanks

I use email quite frequently, and have not experienced any trouble with my 6600. Although i use a dial up connection to send mine not GPRS. I say send it back, it may be a fault with your particular phone, also have you tried using the mail from the mem card as opposed to phone mem. That might work!!

Yes using the phone as a dialup to send email works, but that defeats the purpose of having an email client built into the phone.

After some more investigation it appears its dependant upon the mail server I use. I tried a couple of other email accounts I have which permit sending of email as long as one logs in to the smtp server and one of them worked the other one didn't. Seems to be some compatibility issue perhaps between the 6600 and the mail server as my SE Z600 has no issues at all sending mail through the same mail server.

I meant dial up connection from phone as opposed to a GPRS connection from phone, not using the phone as a modem!!! Still using the built in email client.

Finally! Yesy i too have the same problem and as of yet have not found a resolution. I was putting it down to a bug myself. My work around is to simply send another email which then forces the queue but only some of the time.

Perhaps this is an issue that Nokia needs to look at! It is Bloody Annoying!

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I have the same problem with e-mails but also MMS on my NK 6600, both sent by GRPS on Orange. The only solution I have found so far is to turn the handset off then back on, go to the outbox and resend the message and this appears to work. I had a similar problem with the NK 7650 and the same solution work as well.
