Hi,

It seems that my "SIM Error" (as I posted in my previous thread) is simply caused by an SP lock by Orange UK. How do I unlock this puppy?

All help is appreciated. I know you guys don't like 'newbies' too much, but I appreciate your sympathy...

Thanks!

Will a DLR-3P cable do the trick? If not, where can I get such a cable?

Thanx!

Oh and orange are a pain in the arse arent they!! They seem to be the only network that lock their phones now..

Thanx again. Yeah Orange are a punch of punks.

"EEPROM Tools" tells me "Phone not connected". Does this mean that I really need a different cable (as 'lonegunman' suggested)??

---------------------

EDIT: I guess so...

On a different note, Orange and Nokia suggested that there is some type of code that I can punch into the phone to unlock it (but they refuse to give me this code, of coarse!). Apparently it is generated by some sort of algorithm on the IMEI. Anyone know anything about this??

You got the right com port selected??
Hmm, maybe not the lead after all..

Hmm, not heard that one yet.. I remember ages ago my mum wanted her 3310e unlocking by orange and they advised her that she would need to send the phone back to orange and they would charge her £35 for the job!!

Just done a search for the code your talking about and i cant seem to find any guides for calculating the damn code.. So I dont think that idea is gonna work either :(

Yeah thanx. I got similar search results. Now I'm looking to find the difference between a F Bus and M Bus cable. Maybe I can mod my cable in some way.

Know of any sites that show the wiring schematics of these cables??

Go here : http://mudboy.web3.cz/indexeng.htm this place has pinouts for most nokias available and also relatively simple schematics for the f/mbus part ;)
