Me still a n00b so forgive my stupidity...
Now that its possible to unlock most nokias with nothing more than a f/mbus cable is it possible to use said cable for updating firmware versions or changing stuff like 3310 --> 3315 ?? Please excuse my ignorance but I am learning and ive noticed that there are some very knowledgable ppl around here :confused:

@Squirt1000

Your cable should be ok for this. No need for flash cables.

If you have 3310 with v 5,47 or up
just use pclocals and set bit 30 of eeprom to position 1 (from 0)
Nokiatool 3.21 by Jordik can also be used but till now I never used it for this ...

Start pclocals ( By me works under WIN98SE )
When you get failed message for initialization,
go to options,
select Interface, press enter,
select M2BUS, press enter,
esc for back to main menu.
Then select "intialize connection" press enter
When its ok, then select ME Memory functions, press enter
Select Product profile settings, press enter
Select Product profile bit 30, press enter, status switch to 1
Press F2 for save to Eprom
Press esc twice, the Q for quit.

Don't use other funktion, you can destroy eeprom area.

3310 is now 3315 v5.47 (3310 v5.47 with 3315 features)
New features:
- Automatic keypad lock
- Picture editor
- Personal sms tone
- erase messages (All, inbox, outbox)

@treng

Nothing's wrong with Nok, but then again nothing's wrong with pclocals either... I had a detailed description of how to do it with pc locals wich I could easily paste so that's why.. :D

@squirt:

Pls take a look at the soft for 1 sec before you ask... The 3310->3315 is very clear in the nok menu. You can't miss it if you bother to look at the soft!

ok. sorry... :cool:

For software upgrade/downgrade (commonly "flashing"), you use a flasher cable. For all the other stuff (LogoManager, unlocking etc.) you use a f/mbus cable. :cool:
