6600 Problems

It's the third day that i have the 6600 and the problems started. It kinda reminds me of my 8310 that all of sudden jammed and it had the same symptoms as 6600, from the 2nd day. (Ahh, i'd never had a mobile like 8210 again...).
First of all, sometimes when i try to switch it on, it lights, writes Nokia and then again closes. Or Nokia just disappears and it closes again. Also, just half an hour ago when i went to send a text message, to To i press the joystick, opens my contact list, press the button with the pencil under the menu button to change from my native (Greek) to English, it opens me the menu Number mode, Insert symbol, Writing language. I press the joystick down to select Writing language but nothing happens. Instead i saw in the background to move downwards the light that flashes on the names. I pressed cancel to find later that if i press a button for example 5, it shows me firsty 3 letters from my native language, then 5 and then j k l. Well this didn't happen yesterday. So since the menu opens is it a problem of the phone or a setting that i missed?
Also i bluetoothed a .wav file in my phone. Go to the msgs, open it, opens the recorder, press play but nothing happens, it stands still. So, since it recognizes .wav as an extension can it be played or not? And how about midis'?

Damn, and it's only the 3rd day that i have the phone :evil:

Would it be possible that you ended up with a pre-release version of the 6600? Can you check your firmware version and post it here?

p.s i think most of the nokia repair shops are not taking anymore fones or we wont get them back untill christmas so i mite wait a while till i update my firmware?

Where can i find my firmware version? And can i update my software? Sounds interesting...

for Firmware check type *#0000# in the standby screen.

And you can update your phone at a local Nokia Care Centres, check www.nokia.com for the adresses.


And for Andy7650, maybe you just installed a program wich loads on startup, just try a format or a system app check...

i also had a lot of probs with my nokia 6600 during its first week, so i understad you, i had problems with my dictionnary, once i wanted to write an sms, the dictionnary had dissapeared from my phone!!, and i couldnt even write an sms cause all it would use were numbers!!!!!

also for some days i was unable to open my phone settings, the phone said 'application error' so it couldnt open it

I went to the store where i bought the phone and they flashed it for free!!!!

What i think is that eversince i installed crap'applications on my 6600
like blizzard and all that kind of apps, then my phone started going crazy, did u by any chance installed some apps that could have damaged you phone system?

It's that version of firmware is the newest ?? coz' mine is 3.42.1 too.

Have anybody tried update your firmware version ? :-? :-?

thats my version and it works fine. i only have this startup tone problem. after i have turned my phone on and entered the pin code, i have to wait for about 1min before pressing ok on the pin code or else i wont heard the startup sound. yea, nothing beats 8210. 8310 really sucks!!! 6510 is better but then 3650/6600 is the best! :D

I have the same problem with Salsero.
I turn on the phone, enter my pin code. After a few seconds the phone closes. My firmware is V 3.42.1 16-10-03 NHL - 10

Does anyone have an idea about that problem?
If you don't know the solution of it can you suggest me any web page where I can get help from?
