Has anyone tried the "trick" to free up Ram found on mIRC?

It was in one of the guides on there. Apparently, if you install smart launcher, activate it, plug in your phone charger, turn off your phone, and when the battery meter appears you press the menu button: supposedly you get 4.5 mb RAM.
To me this sounds like bullshit, but I installed smart launcher to try it, and now my phone is messed up! Or more like my memory card!

I did once install smart launcher (without the intention to get that extra memory) and it fawked up my fone. lot of error came up every seconds..I uinstalled it and they all gone :)

I got the problem where I can only make and recieve calls. Everything else brings up "system error". I uninstalled the program though safe mode and it still persisted, so I eventually found the single file (in the recogs directory) and deleted it. I did it by backing up my mmc to my computer and deleting half of the folders in the system folder. If the problem was still there, I knew it wasn't a problem with those folders, so I restored them and focused on the other half.

It took me around an hour and a half (maybe two hours) to fix it. In the end, the file "recautoexec" in the "system" / "recogs" directory that caused it. to think that such a small file could cause so much hassle......
Anyway, I was up untill 4 in the morning trying to fix it. Working fine now though! :D

to all of yall i recommend u uninstall it casue that shit is crap it takes up to much RAM and u cant hardly do shit at all. and u do get lots of errors i uninstalled myself too......

the indicator doesnt show as much as 4.5 mine shows 3.2 with fone off launcher installed bcharger plgged in, my complaint about this app isnt the amount of ram it takes up but it chops you batterylife by at least 2/3

onli games i noe tt work are puzzle bobble, puyo pop and sonic n, heard mlb can be played too, cant verify tt.

yeah, mlb can be played, but it only works like every 1 in 5 turns.

OK, when i do this trick, i come in the screen where you see your free RAM and battery power and sh1t and i indeed see that i have 4,5 mb free RAM but i cant select an app or game from there. So how do i open an application?

It's just crazy there's no app to free up some ram, it's full of stupid stuff (anyone heard about mosquito sw?), I know it would be only for 3650-3660, but I can't believe that sh don't think about it (maybe 'cause they'd sell less games for Ngage ;) ?)...

its true it works with the trick, i is know for a half year on allaboutsymbian.com i told it to some guys on irc and they all got it working. i have 4mb -4,5 mb free if i do the trick but it online works with charger if you plug out you phone will turn off
