Hey Mates,

Just wanted to ask someone who knows the step-by-step process to create sound files to use as ringtones for the 6600 that actually sound decent?

I used to create these files before for my 3650 using .mp3 files then converting then to PCM Waveform Mono then to GSM 6.10… Anyway, that worked fine with the 3650, but now that I tried it for the 6600 the sound quality is very low and just not as good.

I am using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to manipulate these sound files.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Also, wanted to ask what type of sound files work with the 6600 other than .wav?

I’ve tried searching this forum but just can’t seem to located answers… if you do know where I can find it, let me know too.

Thanks all & Happy New Year !!!

The sounwd files that work on a 6600 is amr,MP3(need an program for this), awb,WAV & MIDI

I use wav tones set on CD QUALITY as my ringtone it costs a few KBs but the 4MB is worth it :)

That’s right, I forgot PC Suite could do that… also more work but Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 can convert audio files into AMR format.

Thanks guys for the reminder and the help.

whenever i had converterd an mp3 to my 6600, the volume of te mp3 was very low, i think many of you have that problem also

but now i use 'cool edit pro' to crank up the volume (i hope i spell it right :D )

now it sounds super on my 6600 and very loud!

did you guys also even notice that the sound is harder when vibration is set 'off'....
