Hi!
So... My mother put my jeans to washing machine with my phone in pocket... Damn  ! I washed it perfectly with Chunkheads method and after drying it worked poorly (tilting... have to switch on again) ok. But I repeated washing and now it doesnt switch on at all... If somebody have any clue what it would be Iīd be very very thankful! I can do somethin by my self ( iīv chanched few power icīs etc (so i can do something to pcb too).. and i have multimeter, oscilloscope so i can measure quite much... ) My problem is that I donīt have any idea where to start. I havenīt reheated pcb yet (is it usually very common problem?)
But please explain all measuring tips to me like you would explain allmost to monkey  :-P Iīm not so good in electronics.

btw: Sorry my bad English
And please Answer if you have anything that can help (if you donīt want answer here you can mail me: [email protected]).

Oh forget to mention... And it doesnīt let me flash it... Program shows that starting format but it doesnīt start it (stays in 0). And my flasher is that cheap chinese  Iīve succed to flash one 6310 with it without problems so it should work.

Couple of things,

Is there voltage across the power button??

Is the battery working?? Try a diffrent one as they take the worst damage when it comes to water.

Also (aimed at other people) does the cheap flasher work with the 7210, I know it don't work with 3650 and 7650???

If so it would be worth trying to flash it with Neelix or griffin I think one of those would have better results.

Hopw this helps

Please post how you get on

Best Regards

Ok..
I measured power button pins and there is 3.6v between. And battery is working i measured it too.
But about that cheap chinese flasher.. it should work with 7210..
Iīll tell what it is actually saying: First when i connect phone to flasher it says "entering testmode" --> and after that it says "erasing from 0x01000000" after that it doesnīt start to erase memory it says about after 20 seconds "no ack received".
What do you think? would it be just crap quality flasher?

I cannot really help you with that as I have never seen or used it.

But I do think its a SW problem given that it starts to erase the flash, and being in water will have probably corupted the flash on the phone.

The phone is completely dry isn't it???

Yup it is dry(have been drying about week now  ... Have to think a little time what to do. And i donīt know anybody who have better flasher (Just nokia service   ) but it cost too much money just for a little chance to get it work (or maybe not have to think that too). One thing what came to my mind is that the phone was in the washing machine and washing agent is quite corrosing stuff and after washing maybe there was corrosed foil which leaded electicity poorly and after my propanol washing it vanished? never know...
Now Iīm going to find nokia service manual ( with that troubleshooting part)
and try to measure is there something wrong at component side.

Thx 1000x times again from reply.

Iīll try to get this shit work and iīll reply if i get some life to it  .

Want to sell the thing ? I Need the part L300 (choke) (it's in the service manual). That part is vital for the illumination.. and I have a 7210 with no lights..
