someone told me that there is a program which increases the RAM memory
in 3650 from 3MB to the amount similar to N-Gage (12MB i suppose)
is that true?
it could be because it is pretty the same device
same CPU 104MHz
and same built in memory 4MB

Yes, but RAM has nothing to do with processor speed or storage space. At the moment, there is no possible way, however I still live in hope that some day, someone, somewhere will create an application similar to a swap file in windows. Virtual Memory....... using storage space as virtual RAM.

i thought that RAM is not a separate memory but is used from phone memory and MMC (and i think that still)
is that not so?
so extending it is only a software job not hardware
pitty that there is no such program yet

Well, no.
RAM is hardware because the RAM chip in your phone decides how much RAM the phone has. With a computer, you can add or remove RAM as you see fit.
However, even the windows swap file is not a permanent solution. If your computer is eating into the virtual memory, you really should buy more RAM.
In theory, it's possible on a phone and it should work, but in theory, so should communism. I remember seeing a file containing instructions on how to make a swap file on a mmc , but it was only for use on pdas using Linux. I really dont know how well it would work.

but it still uses phone and MMC mem
its not like in comp other mem for hdrive and RAM
is it?
when i used a memory in my phone and MMC the RAM memory decreast in exactly the same amount...

i thought that nokia is naming the RAM as a "shared memory"
the text in the user guide is dim but it gives a hint

ram is hardware. when alot of stuff are installed, or when u run alot of app at a time, the fone starts to lag, ram is used.
but to increase the ram from 3 to ngage level, impossible, unless u change the ram in ur fone.

but if someone comes up with a virtual ram app will it all solve the problem??

Well, I remember seeing instructions on how to increase the storgae space on the 7650, but it was very very complicated stuff. And I'd say there was a greater chance of fucking up your phone than actually getting it to work.

y, either get a 6600 or ngage man. 3650's ram is pathetic, max u can get is 6 mb, wif flight mode! (or 5+)

increasing the ram on the 7650 would make it unstable because the o/s can only handle the ram which it was programmed for, i guess if you look at win98, if you installed memory over 512meg then the o/s would become unstable.

hey, that text file that johnnyspliff was talkin about, how to make a swap file on an mmc card. well i think i know what the program is called, qswap. not sure what platform its for but someones making/made a port of it for c700 (what ever that is???)
whole topic about it here:
http://externe.net/zaurus/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72
would it be possible to make a port for the 3650???
really would be a life saver if it was possible
