Hi

I'm very computer literate but have never flashed a phone b4. Carphone Warehouse want £30 to flash my 6210 to the latest firmware (this seems like a rip-of). Apparently this will help with the problem it has whereby it keeps switching itself off in my pocket. So....can someone point me in the right direction as to what I need. There are loads of cables on ebay (FBUS/MBUS) but I don't know which one to buy. Also, where can I download the flashfiles? Sorry if this info is already somewhere in the forum - I have three tiny children running around my feet and time is scarce

Thanks in anticipation

Zaz

Things you need:

Flasher Cable (connects to the printer port on PC)
Firmware for your phone (MCU+PPM)
Rollis Flasher v4.78
Your phone charger

There is a detailed guide on how to flash your phone in the forum FAQ

Danny

Thanks Danny. Is there a website to download the flash files from and also the Rollis software? Can you point me to the thread with more detailed instructions.

Thanks

Not sure where you can download MCU's and PPM's anymore as a couple of the big servers have been taken out by nokia as it is a breach of copywrite to distribute their software.
Search on google would probably be best
Try something like "DCT3 flash files"

The FAQ thingy is here: http://nokiafree.org/forums/t31346/h/s.html

Also I forgot to mention that you would need an Mbus datacable also!
But its all in this thread!

Brilliant - thanks for this. Also, you said I would need a PRINTER cable (which would be a parallel) but all the ones I can find on the internet are definitely serial. Is this right?

Thanks again
