Hi,
Does someone have any LONG LASTING solution for those 6110 fading screens ? I keep ading a layer in the box but after 2 weeks it needs pushing harder and harder to see anything. I'm tired of needing a screswdriver everytime. Does it help to clean the contact with anything or are them displays hopeless ? :-?

... no DIY solution :-?
Yes there is :-P
If you dismantle the phone then remove the screen (4 metal clips which hold it to the board) you will see a small rubber connector. This is the eleastometer, now you have two options, either buy a new one and replace it.....or as I've done with many a phone, carefully remove it and then replace it the other way around (turn it over) I've found this will usually cure the problem on the 6110/5110. The only phone I've done this to which it didn't work for long with was a 8210, and I cured that by fitting an elastometer from a 6210 in it :)

Mate DERT is absolutely correct in his solution, but you can also flatten the elastomer with the bach of a pair of tweezers as well.We call it 'massaging' ,but is really stretching it closer to the elastomers original size.Don't put too much pressure on it, and DONT touch the elastomer with ya bare hands, use tweezers. If you have pure alcohol handy, also give it a clean with a swab,as this removes contaminants and makes a big difference.I hav elitterall y odne hundreds of these repairs mate ,and it works
