There I was, minding my only business, wasting time at work and playing my newly installed Rayman 3. Then hell breaks loose, I get to the second level and I have to crouch and crawl. Brilliant!
Has anyone heard of any way to update the firmware so that it supports multi key functions?? Or is it restricted to the actual Hardware?

Not really, if only one freeware S60 developer was smart enough to make a key changer, switch down to 8 or something, then we could play this at ease

:-o What fool creates a joystick and then limits its directional functionality. The brains at Nokia are really thinking ahead... :-?

ngage games are meant to be played on ngage, not on 6600 in the 1st place.

what tzeonn said was right. they were for N-gage only, but did they expect a smart cracker to make them playable on 3650 7650 or 6600! I'm just happy that the Blizzard guy made SonicN playable - its my favourite game!
Plus, i predict that the joystick has four connectors, North East South and West. When it makes contact, the firmware does the rest of the job.
Ok, maybe you get the firmware/software ... but no hardware support! Where can you make the four extra connectors for diagonal functions?
I might be wrong, but I think its impossible unless we buy personalized 6600s

 Regardless of N-Gage, there are still many java apps and sis who in the future, if they do not already exist, could utilize a 8 way joystick. Seems extremly dull to create a joystick with basic limits. It is almost like constructing a automobile without the option of going in reverse.

Wish that was true for the Nokia 6600. I would love to see some awesome graphics and visual effects with the Nokia 6600's 65k screen through some good quality java/sis games. If only if only ...
(Damnit, why can Macrospace/Blue Sphere Games/Gameloft make their games quicker? They got some customers to serve on mirc! )

Good idea Colonel X, press east twice is South-East and pressing west twice is South-West ... or something similar to that?
Now have to wait for some smart guy to start programming ...
Maybe the keypad could be involved? No? ;)
