al we need is an app that sync's like pc suite on pc does you can use pc suite to connect to a phone and delete files on the phone!!! the hard bit is focing the phone you want to hack to authorise the connection
Wouwz
16-01-2004, 12:17 AM
What if someone else deletes all YOUR files?
Damn this app would be a true terror in the mobile world, and no one will ever have their BT on.
Juz 4get this crap, it will NEVER work

all im saying it is possible!!! not from phones yet but from your pc so why not it be in phones apps?? ok its not now but maybe not for the next two years!!! but at some point an app is gonna developed to be able to do exactly what pc suite does!!! all i can say is leave your bluetooth OFF!! then no problem

I wouldn't be so certain if I were you, there are a lot of security loopholes in the bluetooth protocol. So unfortunately it is possible to hack bluetooth phones. However the software required to do it is not available on anything other than Linux OS, so unless you see someone walking down the street lugging a laptop about with them. You should be ok!!!

Hate to say it, but the apps to hack phones from laptops running Linux have already been invented and are available over the internet.
ooops! from what I have heard there are Win32 versions in development as we speak.
I also know for a fact that a new set of requirements to nullify these problems have been put into place by the testing department at Vodafone, so hopefully all these problems should be resolved in any handsets launched from next month onwards...

To be honest I'm not particularly worried about it, you need a laptop running linux in order to do it, and need to know how to use linux.
This alone (broad generalisation coming up) means that you only really need to worry about hacker/security types anyways....
And at the end of the day, who really cares what pictures and messages someone has got stored on their phone?
I can't really see anyone going to the effort of exploiting this one... we shall see....

well, if tt ass formatted my fone and formatted my mmc wifout me knowing, i will get real pissed!
but then again, bt works only in a range of 10 m, unless tt freak uses a class 1 bt set, which works in 100 m, otherwise its pretty limited. i tink placing bt in hidden or off shld prevent any attacks.
@tony yeap, its not implemented yet, but the programmer is working on it, gif it time, im interested in tt app too!

Indeed that would be most annoying fyi: if you want to prevent it you need to turn BT off completely when you are not using it, programs are available to locate hidden bluetooth devices.
Also for information, they work by brute forcing the BT address of any handsets in range, according to the BT spec, if a handset recieves a BT comm sent directly to it, it should respond (the reason you can still contact paired devices when they are hidden) and so the program roots them out that way.
Again, the limitations of this would be that you'd have to stay within the same 100m area for the entire length of the scan....

Many may say that BT hacking is impossible. But I personally know that it is possible. In the programming world, this type of app is called "Bluesnarfing". Lots of programs have already been made by "nice" experts, but the source codes are very easy to make so that it wont take long before these programs are widly distributed. It can get any information from another BT enabled fone without pairing up. It uses what is known as the Object Exchange (OBEX) function which was generally created for the purpose of sending buisness cards easily. What the manufacterers didnt know, was that this could be used for other "evil" purposes. Sony Ericsson has warned all their customers to renew their firmwire to prevent such abuse, but Nokia has not done anything yet as they still claim that the danger is still low.
And to make another thing clear: You CAN DO THIS FROM ANOTHER FONE, you dont need LINUX as stated earlier!
You can find more information on Bluesnarfing on ZDNET's website or ITAVISEN (http://itavisen.no/art/1302905.html) (Norwegian)

pray tell me, quite how do you intend to use a BlueSNarf attack from a mobile phone?? Has a symbian app that modifies the bluetooth stack on a handset been developed then, I hate to say it but I find that incredibly unlikely....

And if i'm not mistaken, Sharp use linux as the OS on their PDA's... I can see it only being a matter of time before they put it on a phone...
Roll on the geekyness!
Suppose linux is a bit of a geek thing, but once you take the time to get used to it... and yeah, my computer does dual boot!

its only a question of time before some1 posts a link to such a program here on this forum

wow thats soooooo cool!!! bluejacking is jsut pissing off other END USERS that have there bluetooth on and not hidden. so they are open to incomming transmitions. no hacking envolved. kinda lame to bombard some poor user with lame messages. so bluejacking acheives nothing more than airwave harasment.

How can you do this from another phone? Or was this just something that you assumed? Please let me know.

Tzeonn.. yeah.. you can bet !
I've seen some pages on BT scanning and snarfing with linux, it can get the MAC addresses and get a +/- precise information on signal strength. As it seems to me, all avaiable applications are made on this platform or on palmOS as i've seen also a BTSpammer.prc document on this one.
But this is quite a strange thing.. coz.. many developers use java.. so why is is taking so long to develop a java app on this one ? I've just recalled that there is also an application for SE called SMAN that actually does bluejacking with automatic enroll.. it creates logs on jacked mobiles and it even vibrates on ur pocked whenever a new victim is .. well.. jacked it's ass off..

oh, yea, i heard of it, linux is the onli platform so far tt can exploit the bt in fones. maybe java app cant b done, maybe coz of limitations?
but it wun b a good thing if it really becomes a reality. juz like hacking aint cool, especially when u r the victim.

Lol. Hacking is all good; until someone hacks you.
well.. you got a point.. but faults must be pointed in order to be corrected. All of this bluejacking was just an ideia on the esato forums.. and already lead to bluesnarfing. But you see.. if your mobile get jacked is coz it is faulty.. Nokia and also other brands should develop new software versions in order to avoid this (i wonder why they are not developed).. but at the same time.. it seems to that they r interested to make it happen.. coz the forbiden fruit(hacking others phone with your phone) is more tasty.
Nokia already anounced that this is not significant.. so no anti-bluejack will be developed.
I ask : Why is not significant ? Should not the user be able to control is own phone/product ? Something that has a fault was bought as an unfaulty one .. or am i wrong ?
If the software becomes avaiable.. blame not the developers.. but the brands. As they KNOW the faults and let them just the same.. they knew it from the begining !
I wonder : If your contacts and photos were snarfed (yes.. it is possible) while u r walkin in the subway.. who would you blame ?
Keep in mind.. who holds the information.. holds the power!!!

well guys..one thing is for sure..BT master is a hoax but bluesnarfing is already a reality..seen it at BBC..a demo was made on TV..he could get contacts, messages and calendar info. now the user says the only thing to be done is by bluesnarfing other data like pictures, sounds and other data..i saw this "bluehacking" issue about 6 months ago and everybody was confused and mad about this so called "hoax" and said that it was not possible i would love to see the faces on those who said it was not possible. :)

why bother????
can i just ask you all what youd accomplish by hacking someones phone with BT???
just give me a list of what youd get from it???
cos to me it seems completly pointless, why not make a program that hacks something more worth while???
at the most all you'd get is maybe a few apps if they got the .sis files on their phone and the odd mp3 or maybe a film(and thats only if you got time to d/l it from them before your out of range)??
just my opinion there :)

The only thing those scripts do is search for devices. The only special about them is that they will find devices set to "not descoverable".
And can we please stop whining about those BT hacking apps? They don't exist, and will of course be posted if they are released. I don't understand why you need to ask for it...
