OK I have the wiring diagram and the chips and the know-how, but what I can't figure out is how to connect to the phone. I need to know which is the mbus pin, is it on the outside of the phone, or do I need to crack the case open? The diagram I found shows the exterior pins all being power, but I don't get that at all.

Cheers in advance.

it is located in the right side of the battery. you see there six round terminals. try to search this forum to know w/c of those six is the mbus pin.

Cheers Julz, for that info. I have built myself an RS232C level shifter from the new generation of MAX232 chips, they need very little in the way of external components. I have stuck a 5V regulator on the board so that I don't need to worry about draining power from my lap-top. Of course you can tap power out of the keyboard, or USB connector, but that seemed complicated.
