Hi All
Bought a second hand 3210 from a boot sale without a sim card. Want to transfer the sim from my siemens phone, to keep same number. Partner has a 3210 so makes life easier for in-car charging /handsfree.

When I inserted the sim, got message 'sim card not accepted'

I looked through the forums but found nothing on the 3210. Not sure what the mentioned IMEI is either.

Sorry to be a complete idiot but could someone please talk me through the process so I can use my existing sim card on this phone? I dont know what network the previous owner was registered with.

Please help.

In anticipation

Andy

you can unlock ur 3210 by using nokiatool by rolis, and an MBUS data cable which can be connected via serial port (com port).

hi julzboy

thanks for responding. i have purchaced a cable and downloaded the software but keep getting the message 'phone not connected'
the phone is charged and switched on, also checked the connection back to the computer, and i do not have the sim card i want to use in it. is that right or should i have the sim card in it?
is there any other way of telling if the computer is the problem?
i have no real idea which provider it was with but my vodaphone sim says 'sim not accepted' and my partners on 02 and say's the same. can we rule out those and plump for orange or one other.
i appreciate your help and patients to what must sound dumb questions to those in the know.
you again have my thanks

what kind of cable did you purchase? some are dual fbus and mbus cable. you should be using mbus. and one more thing, it is not "phone not connected", noktool says "failed to initial local mode" whenever it cant detect your phone. try cleaning the terminals of your 3210, because sometimes, bad contact causes the problem. and try using windows 98.

here's a link for some softs that function like noktool:

there are a couple of tutorials in there.
