Hi,

i don't know why, but i cann't install any .jar game/app. Using pc suite for n6600 -> Tools -> Install device software, my nokia say - "App.closed ChildInstaller". And pc installer is possible close only with 'end task'. If i copy .jar file to phone, and open at phone, then process the same :(
My be some ideas?

Do this instead:

1. Transfer your *.sis or *.jar file over to your phone via Bluetooth or Infrared
NB: Step 1 does not require you to use PC Suite! Only send through BT/IRDA through Windows Explorer or My Bluetooth Places or something similar that your wireless connection supports
2. On your Nokia 6600, go to Menu -> Messaging -> Inbox
The *.jar or *.sis file you just transferred should be listed there.
3. Simply press Options -> Open or press down the joystick to open the message
4. Follow the steps and prompts to install the *.jar or *.sis file onto your Nokia 6600!

That should do it. If that doesn't PM me

The only solution I've found for that is to format the phone. Also, if you do the backup thing in the memory card options, the problem copies, so don't do that.

HI

Did formatting you N6600 solve the problem with "App.closed ChildInstaller" since I am facing the same problem and I dont know what all software I am going to lose if I format the phone.
Do I have to reenter all the contacts and callander stuff in my phone ?

You say 90% of the time, but isnt that wierd that it works sometime and doesnt work some other time. Are we talking about a Nokia 6600 mobile phone and not a female ???

Just kidding

I dont want to go about reentring all my contact again since it is really a pain. I just imported all the contacts from my PDA ( Palm OS), now I have Nokia 7201 and Sony Palm OS and this new phone Nokia 6600 and none of them have all the contacts.
I guess I will have to go through the pain of impoting the contacts again if I want to exec my java programs on the phone.

Just one more question:-
Is there any other software similar to Nokia PC Suite:- sicne I feel that Nokia PC Suite is shit since first I had a problme wth it since I installed it on E: drive but it seemsto work only if I install it on C: drive ( or rather on the same drive as windows system drive) another problem that I am facing is with respective to some applciation called mRouteApplication.exe, whenever I want to shut down the PC (Windows XP) this application never shuts down and I generally have to hard boot the PC.

Thanks a lot I am dowloading Oxygen, the screen shots look good I suppose it works well and does not cause the problems that I used to face. Moreover I get a facility by which I can edit the contact list and calander info using the pc which is a major benifit.
