hi, does anyone know how to transfer the contacts from a 3650 to an n-gage?

I own both phones and want to transfer my contacts from 3650 to n-gage. I tried restoring the 3650 mem card on the n-gage. This works, however it messes up other things on the n-gage (ie, u can't select general device settings to change shortcut keys, also it puts all info from 3650 manager, into n-gage manager, even though programs aren't on n-gage.)

After i tried that i reset my phone (*#7370#), then using fexplorer i tried to copy the contacts file from C:\system\data on the 3650 and use it to replace the one on the n-gage. (this worked with calender details!). However it won't send the 'contacts.cdb' out of the phone.
Further more it won't even let me copy the 'contacts.cdb' on to the E: (mmc drive) infact it won't let me do anything with that file?

Can anybody solve this problem????

not seen the n-gage yet but can you not use the sync prog built into nokia suite to sync outlook from one phone to the other through IR or Bluetooth?

Ive had a 7650 and a 3650 and just keep sync'ing between the 2 through outlook.

maybe, i've never used nokia suite, because i was always told it was sh1t. so if i dig out that old cd a got with my phones and install nolia suite, i should be able to get going!

but i would rather find this 'contacts manager' program?

The Nokia Software that is bundled witht he phone really sucks man.. nothing works fine in the bundles software.. its kinda lame and desnt seem to do much help with the phone when there is a problem... all you need to do is to sync your phone with a PC then you can get all the files that you need... need to get teh sync cradle...

well, i had to bt all the contacts, 1 by 1, den save them in the ngage, 1 by 1, tt sucks!

well i think thats what i'll have to do. bt contacts 1 by 1. it's crazy. there must be a way to copy the contacts.cdb file. it's madness!

the best way is to sync it with your outlook. that the most easy way to copy contact.

In flight mode,you can copy the file contacts.cdb to your MMC.

well, the file name is psiloc system tools, juz search for system tools, latest version is 1.42 i tink, try irc, bet they haf it.

can't get on to IRC, the server i use has a websenser which blocks that kinda stuff. so i'll try and search. If not is there any other place you know of? or know anyone who could mail it to me?

You can copy your contacts over to your SIM card. Simply go into your contact, select the name of your contacts, then highlight a number of that person. Now click options, then copy to sim direct. This will copy the number and the contact name to your SIM card. Do this for all of your numbers in the contact list. Next, when you put the sim card into the new phone, you should be able to goto the menu and open up the SIM folder. Then open SIM direct. Now, highlight each contact name (each will have a different number) and select options, copy to contacts. This is a long way to do it, Outlook is the best, but this may work if you can't find anything else.

Heres the easy way. Install avec backup on the phone with the contacts on it, back them up to the server, install avec on the phone that has to receive them and download them from the server to the phone, easy peasy.
