Is a virus possible?

I was thinking, since the 6600 is a "small computer" is it possible to buid a virus app, which have a code that simply blocks the phone, or erases all the memory, or formats mmc, something so evil :evil: that you need to go to Nokia to make it functional again?

Space doubler corupts all data on the phone if you are unlucky... The bonus is that the backup in PC Suite was corupt too so there was nothing but full reset to do

Some Nokia phones have capabilities to browse WAP Internet ... it may happen, maybe a small *.app file or something ...

yeah, i feel thats possible to have virus programs for the phone... y not?
if u can install sis programs, play java stuff, etc, it is possible for a programmer to conjure some poisonous program and some self programmed virus to wreck havoc on your beloved phone!!! :-x

If someone found a way to install something in a symbian device without the user's knowledge then yes a virus would be possible (install itself in your CP, sends itself to your contacts and replicate from their CP, etc etc etc) but til that day comes we don't have to worry about viruses. We just have to worry about malicious programs :D
