Mosquitos Game Warning

Okay, i found a nice little game on a yahoo group somewhere...

Played it to death (on silent mode I might add) then when I had got bored of it, i shut it down only to find that EVERY time you start a new game, it sends a text message from your phone... I dunno what it was requesting or how much it's going to cost me.

lol, guys you've gotta learn to outsmart fuckers like this.. Simple solution... run the game in flight mode.. Flight more = no network or radio signals = No sent SMS = No charge for you.. lol

And if you look in your call log, you'll be able to find out wat number it was sending the SMS to..

does it happen in all the versions?? i dont see any sms's in my call log an i played it a few times yesterday, it said cracked version though

I had exactly the same thing, just deleted the game. Also had it with a cracked version of photographer........(Premium Rate Texts - although luckily they failed!)

lol, i couldnt see anything in the log so i checked just to be sure. i checked how much money i had left before and after i played the game. and it was the same!! (still nothing in the log after either) so it doesnt send sms from my phone. btw i have a 6600 and flight mode wasnt on.

I have that version aswell. I'm in Ireland, and it doesn't send messages from my phone. I'm using a 3650.

I hv a cracked version by saddam and it downst send any msg.. I thought killer virus did that.. anyways I'm in Portugal using a 3650

well, the onli playable version of it i seen was the one by saddam, and i nv sent any sms playing it too. maybe its for ppl in particular places.

I heard that they send those Premium Charged SMS only in UK I believe.

I'm pretty sure that they will fail if the app is working in Australia :D

I came across this some time ago on my own 6600. I found this the other day:

There is one crack of the game, making it possible to play it everywhere. But the dirty suckers seem to have implemented something that this cracked version wants to phone home by sending a SMS every time you played. I checked it, the crack only tries to send an SMS in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland. All other coutries dont have a Jamba
subsidirary and are save.

ONLY if you live in other countries, I would recomment to use the cracked version!

I got my version from IRC cracked by Soddom, and it sends sms's each time it's played. A bit nasty really. Shame as like everyone's said it's a fun game to.

That's why you buy a Chinese Service Provider SIM Card ... use it in UK (I know, no reception) but then you can play the app!

But when you need to make a call, change it bak or sumthin.

Hi all,

I just got a Nokia 3650 and i live in the uk.
My version of the game IS sending SMS but only on certain games i choose in the game type.

Luckly now i get 300 free sms here in uk so im not getting charged but it sure sux that they make games sms info to the cracker..

I consider this a very bad thing as for wares etc. whats to say we aint getting caught for having a cracked game in our phones....


Just a thought but we could be trapped this way in the future and taken to court for the use of illigal software.

They are doing this with many people who use filesharing programs they are putting files there for people to take then searching for it and sending out a 3 day take down notice the the persons isp and home...

theres an app called system tools tt lets u go into flight mode. but i dun tink it will work on 6600.... someone tried and cant get it to work.

hey, ive got that cracked version by soddom and usin it on my 3650 in the UK, but it doesnt send any texts that im aware of.

however, i have had 2 texts sent to one of them premium text message numbers, first one was back in september last year (way before i had discovered mosquitos) and the other one was last month.

im on contract and ive contacted o2 about it and they said that my mobile phone has been subscribed to a service and that they will block my number from it.

only thing is, im not sure what their from??? whether it is games or not???

Mine on the 6600 was sending texts, fortunately it only sent 2 before I realised, got the bill they were only 10p each on Voda UK.

Ye i had the same thing, just make a new invalid SMS centre and change everytime u play it!

This way it can't send the SMS

there are several versions of cracked mosqitos
it depends in which country u r (and if u r in wrong country :) it sends a text msg)
there r special cracs for those countries
so if ur phone sends sms u need to download version for ur country
thats all
