Using an Anycom Bluetooth 10 m Adaptor, Windows XP professional and Nokia Data Suite that came with 6600;

Bluetooth filetranfers are all good and working perfectly though when I try and connect to PC Suite get error that I need to provide a nunique name to recognise phone by?!! The indicators in windows taskbar show connection has been made both in Adaptor software and Nok connection properties though for some reason it is unable to be recognised. When I check known devices my phone shows as an unknown device. :-?

Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry if posted in wrong area.

You have to install PC Suite on the same drive on which you have installed Windows XP. Before you do this uninstall PC Suite from your computer first and run Nokia_6600_registry_cleaner. This little program is available at www.nokia.com. Good Luck!

This took me a week to find out and it is for pc suite 6600 for xp.
What you have to do is to change the compatibility for all the *.exe files in the nokia pc suite and the intuwave (=mrouter) folders.

Start the windows explorer and browse to "program files/nokia".
Right-mouse-click on one of the exe files select "properties" and go to the tab "compatability".
Here you can change the setting. Set it to "Windows 98/Windows ME".

Do the same to all the other exe files in both nokia and intuwave folder, restart and.........!!!!!! It works great here. Let me know if it works for you too.

Sometimes there a lot of errors caused by dodgy no-brand Bluetooth dongles. I experienced that before. But seeing that you're using a Anycom Bluetooth dongle, this shouldn't be a problem.

I use a Billionton Bluetooth 100m USB Dongle now
