My 6600 charger makes a whining noice

I have the Swedish version of 6600 charger
(Input: 100-240V, 50-60Hz/180mA).

When I stick the charger in to the wallsocket it's silent...but as soon as I connect my phone it starts to make a whining noice loud enough to hear at a distance of around 2 meters.

Anybody else notised this?

That is normal...The same here but when you don't charge your phone unplug the charger from the power socket and when you charge the phone later on it would be less noisy.

I had that too in the beginning but after a couple of weeks the sound was gone.

Well I took my whining charger after four weeks and went with it to store where I bought the phone. There people also admitted that this shouldn't be so, and new charger for me, voila!

As far as I know, when the charger makes noise, there's something broken / loose inside. Go and replace it.

It appears to be normal read your nokia documentation the Dutch version says unplug the charger when not charging the phone because the charger becomes hot and makes noises....also a couple of friends of mine have the same but if the noise becomes really loud then go back to the store you bought it...you can only hear my charger when there is complete silence and even then you hardly hear it but it makes a sound.

Finnish version of 6600's manual doesn't mention anything about noise. Maybe we have different chargers here :rolleyes:
Mine had also very quiet beeping but since it was broken (according to Nokia's biggest dealer here), why not to replace it to silent one :-P

I will... sometimes it beeps and then is quiet then beeps again....

mine to it kinda makes this weird sqieeling noise and i do unplug mine after every use? do you sense a recall coming up?

My 3650 charger is very quiet, even though it is plugged 24/7.

yes i have a 3650 too the charger is always plagged in even when it is not charging, why don't you use the 3650 charger, i don't think its different
