On the XP box, you can share out an internet connection... (first make sure your BT device on the XP box supports Pan/Lan profiles, and is fully installed and running)
To do so, click on:
Control Panel | Network Connections | Current LAN connection (the connection that gets you on the i-net)
Then, right-click that connection....
Properties | Advanced Tab | Check both boxes under "Internet Connection Sharing"
What this does is tells your XP box to dynamically assign an IP addresss to any BT device that connects to it ...
If you have done this correctly, the IP address of your BT device should now be:
Ethernet adapter PAN:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
You shouldn't have any other IP addresses the same as this -- this is the default IP address that Windows assigns....
.......
Now, from your other BT device ... do a device scan, click on the computer with the Bluetooth sharing out i-net access ... click on its services, and if it has LAN, click on it ... then, when the user/pass prompt comes up, just ignore it and hit "ok" -- you should automatically connect and get and IP address and you'll be surfing. ;-)
