Converting Video to AVI format

Could anyone tell me please if they know of software that can convert .3gp video files to .avi format so I can edit my videos. I can't seem to find anything that does this. Thanks.

i think PC suite allows you to do it.

i think PC suite allows you to do it.
As far as I can tell, PC suite only converts PC files to phone format. I haven't found a way to convert the other way as yet. I've looked at Helix and at Nokia Multimedia converter as well but it's the same problem. There must be some way to do it.

Thanks Soobahsoo. I saw that thread a while ago but there are more replies in it now. I have found a partial solution to the problem which I posted to that thread. I'll put it here too in case anyone is interested.

I found a website with 2 free programs that allegedly do the job of converting 3gp to avi:

They both have interfaces so there is no messing about with command lines.

I tried 3GP to AVI 2 first and it worked...video and sound, but only in Windows Media Player. In programs like Premier all I could get was the audio.
I then tried 3GP to AVI 1 which grabs the frames from the Nokia media player but obviously without audio. This worked fine. So to do what I wanted I had to take the video from one and the audio from the other. Messy but successful. I can't wait for something better to come out however.
