mmc problem..

i am using 6600 and with quiet alot of app inside it. but when i want to format its its cant be format .. its just format for not even 3 sec. and its doest format anything.. but when i use mmc reader to format its do format ... may i know what causes this.. or any of u guy outhere encounter this ..thanks ..

i use phone to format. its doest work. but i use mmc reader to format its work.. after tat i open up my mmc folder to format in my phoen its say mmc corrputed... but its can format .. does u guy encounter this ?

This procedure works for me:

Format the MMC Card on a different electronic device (eg Digital Camera that features a SD or MMC slot, or even a PDA). Format the MMC on that device. Insert the MMC into your phone. Once inserted, DO NOT FORMAT IT ON THE PHONE! Use a program like FExplorer or SeleQ to manually create the system files. The folders that are needed are thus:

E:/Images
E:/Sounds
E:/Videos
E:/Other
E:/System
E:/System/Apps

After that, you are complete and the MMC should be ready to rock!

why must we create the folder ourfself. its wil automatic appper rite. and why i cant format my mmc without formating my phone. wjhen i press on format itssince like never format ,, its stil teh same until i format he phone then i can format the mmc ..

Because some MMC cards have problems with being formatted on the Nokia phone

now you will see format word in the screen .

nope bulldog... most devices out there supports sd and usually mmc too...
but nokia is different... it onli supports mmc...

I have the opposite problem....when I first put my MMC into the nokia I formatted it on the phone (I thought it needed it).

Now it works JUST FINE on the phone, but I cannot mount it on my computer.

It doesn't recognize it at all. I know now it was a mistake to format it on the phone.

Anyone know how I can reverse this without screwing up the mmc which does work FINE on the phone?
