Hey guys,

I have the N6600 phone, awesome phone i love it.. But i have a problem, and wondering if anyone else has the same problem or if anyone can help me..

Recently when i have been receiving msgs (text, email, stuff from my PC thru BT), the msg tone wont sound. I have checked with the profile setting and it says that it should alert me when i receive a text.

Could this be a conflict with another program that i have?? Can anyone help me?

When i receive a txt msg, all that happens is that the Envelope icon appears on my phone... no noise, nothing..

Thanks guys,

apostol

Nope tried that... still does not alert..

I;m thinking about doing a complete format/reset... but i want that to be my last resort.

Any suggestions?

I have no problem with the sound but often mine doesnt say '1 new message' like you i just get the envelope sign. If i then go to menu and back to standby screen it says 1 new message. Weird but not the end of the world for me. Not sure why you dont get sound though?

I am using my own custom tone -- "You've Got Mail" -AOL
It wokred fine since i got the phone, but recently it's been buggy.

I figured out what might be the problem.. The folders in the MAIL directory has some files that can not be accessed. There seems to be a problem with some of the folders in there, no file explorer program can gain access into the contents of one of the sub directory folders...

To fix this, i just renamed my whole Mail folder to zMAIL... then the 6600 remade a new MAIL folder.. now it is fine.. I plan on deleting the folder once i receive my new 128mb Card anyways..

interesting solution, sometimes if the file is too big, like i've got a WAV file as my mail message tone, it will skip the playing of the ringtone.. But thats only sometimes.
